Fast Pass return time question

Hi! I have a fast pass question. We are going 4th of July week, so we will try to use as many fast passes as possible. I know there are certain attractions that run out of fast passes early. My question is: For those attractions that run out of fast passes early are the return times into the late evening if the park is open late? For example: I have read that sometimes by lunch time fast passes could be gone. Do the last passes that were given out usually only have return times around 4 or 5 o'clock or could they be for late in the evening, if the park is open until 11 or 12? I hope my ? makes sense. The last passes are for times near park closing, usually the last hour the particular ride is operational.
