Fast pass question

Last time I went... I do not think you could get a second FP until after the time on the first you had. Is that still the case? If you get a FP for a popular ride (ie TSM) and get a late time.. you can't get any other FP's???

I was at MK on June 5. Yes, on the bottom of our fastpasses was a time when your next fastpass would be available.

And while I did not try to get another FP before the stated time, I did see in the FP kiosks where people had left tickets which said "not a valid fastpass" so I assume they had tried to get one before their appointed time.

And if I'm reading your post right, I had FP with a late return time for the ride, but my FP availability was BEFORE my ride availability. That happened on Splash Mountain. I had a 10:30 p.m. ride return time, but I know I could get another FP before that (although I can't remember how much before).

As noted, there is a time given on each fast pass that tells you when you can get another FP. After that time, you are free to get another one, for whatever attraction you want.
So, let's say you get a FP for Soarin' at 9:10am. The return window time is for 3pm-4pm. There will be a time listed that you can get another FP though...it might be for, say, 10:30am. Even though you haven't used the Soarin' FP yet, you can still get a second FP for a different attraction. So, you head over to TT at 11...you get a FP for TT return at 2:30-3:30, with another FP available time of 2:00....you head to M:s at 2:05 and get a FP for that...now, you have 3 FPs in hand.

The general rule is when your window for the first opens up, or 2 hours after you get the first one, whichever comes first.

For example, if you get a TSMM FP at 10am with a return time of 3pm, you should be able to get another FP at noon. If you get a FP at 10am with a return time of 11am, you can get another at 11am.

As the PPs have said, it will be stamped on your FP, so there should be no confusion.

you don't have to use your fp to get another one - you can and should stack them, and they permit you to use them after your return window
