Fast pass question

Ok, I know that you can get another fast pass once the time on your fast pass starts. But, my question is if I get a fastpass with a return time of 1:15-2:15 can I use it after 2:15? Someone told me they collected them and used them hours later. They actually collected fast passes in the morning, went home and napped and then used the fast passes at night. Does this work?

Yes, you will be able to use your fast passes after the time frame has ended. This is because Disney knows that you could get caught up in at a meal or at another attraction.

OK, so turns out Disney doesn't care what time you use your fastpasses AFTER THE TIME LIMIT. Once they are good, they are good until the park ends.

The other key note here to highlight is "until the park ends" - as fastpasses are only good for the day they are issued.

Another note, the fastpasses are also good during EMH if it happens to be at that park the night you got it and that ride is open during the EMH AND you are a resort guest. But for example, most the time the Safari is not open for EMH at DAK so it would not count for that.

We got them for Soarin' but ended up going to dinner late and didn't get over there until a half hour into the EMH. They still honored them. Turned into a bit of an adventure cus they took us in a back way, walking down backstage hallways and past the outsides of the greenhouses you see on Living with the Land.

I was worried because we decided to throw in an afternoon at the beach and I want to make sure that we can still ride what we want to ride after we get back to the park. I figure I will send DH to get the fast passes in the morning while I go get the rental car. Then my DS can go on what he wants to when we return in the late afternoon. Okay...maybe I am rambling and starting to obsess about my plans now. I just feel like we don't have enough time as it is and now this beach thing on top of it! It is what it is, right!?

Sorry no can do! All of your tickets have to be valid for you to get Fastpasses! Plus you can only get a fastpass once every hour.

Unfortunately that won't work. All of your tickets need to be used to enter the park for them to be valid in the FP machines. And you can't get a FP for a 2nd attraction until either the window comes up on your first one, or 2 hours later - whichever comes first. It's not possible to get FPs to all attractions in a park all at once.

Well, we were thinking about going to Epcot in the morning and trying to ride Soarin' right away, pick up our rental at National, and then cruise to the beach for a while ( I realize there is driving time involved) and then be back for our late evening ADR's at Epcot. I just thought if before we left that maybe if there was something else we wanted to ride ( I knew you could only get one FastPass..not several or for more than one ride) that we could get a FastPass while at the park in the morning and then after dinner go on it. We don't plan on being at the ocean all day or anything. We just want the kids to see the ocean and maybe hang out for a few hours or so. Our kids are so used to our crazy pace. Last summer we dragged them all the way up and down the North Shore in an afternoon stopping at several places to explore. But we are trying to be a little more chill, so if it doesn't work out...it doesn't work out. No biggie. Just wanted to know if you could use your one FastPass if the time had expired on it. That's all.

I think I should've been more clear. Going back and reading my first post I did make it sound like I was just going to send hubby to go load up on FastPasses for us all so that we could just come back to the park and hit all the rides at our leisure. We don't have many fulls days to spend at the parks and out of all the parks, Epcot seemed to have the least amount of attractions that appealed to my own kids. MK and AK being at the top of their lists. We live in northern MN and thought it was important for them to see the ocean. I wasn't too thrilled about missing most of a day to be at a park because we only have 4 1/2 days to be at Disney. So if we have to miss most of Epcot (which I think I myself will LOVE), than we just do. We'll just have to make a second trip, right?! Ok...ramble over.

If you're all going into the park in the a.m., no problem snagging FPs for later on.

The general policy on FPs (as posted here on the DIS by several CMs) is that you can use them the same day even after your return window - so coming back later in the day/evening would work.

However, just a heads up... there are sporadic reports of guests not being allowed to do this. Apparently it's at the discretion of the attraction manager to disallow it, although by all accounts doesn't happen very often at all. Seems to crop up as an issue particularly during busy times, and for some reason or another, more often with Soarin than other rides..

Ok...thanks! Hopefully we get to Epcot at opening and can get on Soarin' right away before we head out. Of course, I get dizzy in the car wash lately, so I hope Soarin' isn't too much for me!
