Do the fast passes work the same way at DL as WDW? Meaning, you get one fast pass, and have to wait a while before you can get another one?

The fastpasses do work the same, Unless you purchased a package with Walt Disney Travel that includes the "UNLIMITED" fastpasses, or you purchased a Parkhopper Plus from AAA. If your parkhopper includes unlimited Fastpasses, you can have a fast pass for each attraction in the park at any given time.

isn't the Pirates and HM on their own "fast pass system" and you can have them at the same time as others.
I thought I read that on another board.
::yes::

This is not completely true, the park hoppers from AAA do not include the unlimited FP. You have to have them order you the Passport Plus from WDW Travel to get the unlimited FP.

I believe Rofer Rabbit, Star Tours, and Pirates are on the unconnected system.

DCA is separtate from DL so you can run to get your Soarin FP at DCA then hop over to Sl and get your FP there.

Best hint. Go to Matterhorn right off the batt. It may be a great ride, but it has no FP. Run Forrest Run.

I havent ordered them yet, but from what I read on the Mousesavers website, the Passport Plus tickets from AAA DO include unlimited fastpast.

I know some people have had trouble ordering them and I hope that is not the case with me.

The Passport Plus tickets from AAA are ordered through Walt Disney Travel Company, you can not just go in and buy them, and yes they do include the unlimted FP and other extras.

AAA also sells regular hopper passes straight from their offices, these passes do not included the unlimited fastpass or other extras.

When you go to order your passes you need to be sure that you are getting the right ones and regardless of what the agent might tell you, the only passes that have the unlimited fast pass are the Passport Plus Passes and they must be ordered. They can not be purchased straight from an office.

AAA Passport Plus certainly does offer multiple fastpass. We used it this summer and truly enjoyed it. The basic fastpass system at DL is like the one at WDW, although there are tricks to know about what machines are connected to each other if you don't have the multiple option. For example, the machines at DL are not connected to DCA, so you can hold a pass for each park. If your return time is longer than 2 hours away, you can get a second pass. Some machines are not connected to others at all so you can also hold a pass for one of those. So, you can hold 3 or more passes if you have the energy to figure that all out.

Hi All,

I'm new to the DL board but not to the DIS. Although it's been so long I had to pick a new name cuz I couldn't remember mine!

My family is planning a trip to DL next year and when I called last week to check on prices and such, the cast member told me that the Unlimited Fast Pass option would no longer be available after Dec 31. Not sure if any of you know that yet or not but if you are planning your trip after Dec 31 like we are, that option will not be available in the parks anymore according to the woman I spoke to.

Off to do more reading! Got lots of questions as I've never been to DL. WDW many times but never Disneyland! YEAH!!! :earsgirl:

It is sad seeing the Passport Plus go. I used it in June (then renewed my AP at the end of my stay!!!!!) at it was quite nice. We are not much for waiting for long stretches!

Yes it is sad to see it go! I love the fast pass system and was really looking forward to the Unlimited option but I guess I'm out of luck. Oh well, at least it seems there are ways around it a little.

Im sorry if I wasnt clear in my post.....I understand that I have to order my tickets through the AAA office and that they are not in stock there.

I was only saying that you can order the Passport Plus tickets through AAA that do have the unlimited fastpass.

I am glad, I just wanted to make sure you and others understood that you can not just go in and pick them up. When I went to get mine I was told that the passes I was getting included the unlimited FP, only to find out when we tried to use them that they did not.

I have also been told that Unlimited Fastpast will no longer be offered in 2004. I did find what machines are linked and unlinked :

There are TWO networks, one for the Disneyland Park, and a second for Disney's California Adventure. They are totally separate, so you can always get one FASTPASS for each park. Let's look at the Networked machines....

In Disneyland, the following rides are networked

Indiana Jones Adventure
Splash Mountain
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Haunted Mansion
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Autopia
Space Mountain
Star Tours
it's a small world holiday (NOTE: Christmas version ONLY)

At DCA, the networked attractions are

California Screamin'
Mulholland Madness
Muppet Vision 3D
Who Wants to be a Millionaire - Play It!
It's Tough to be a Bug!
Soarin' Over California

Independent Machines (AKA Stand-Alone)

Pirates of the Caribbean (DL)
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin(DL)
Star Tours(DL)
Grizzly River Run (DCA)

Hope this helps!

<font color=navy>Thank you, sierranevada. (Your name makes me think of Yosemite)

I had also heard that they won't be offering multi-fastpass next year.... bummer

I have now been told that unlimited fast passes will be available but only to guests purchasing packages through WDTC and staying at one of the resorts hotels.

I looked into booking a February, 2004 trip after thoroughly enjoying the unlimited fastpass during our February, 2003 trip.
The information at the www.disney.com website indicates the unlimited fastpasses will not be offered. To be sure, I sent an email to customer service and got this reply:

"
Dear Disneycrazzzy,

Thank you for your email. We apologize, the fast passes are not being offered
for 2004 packages.

Have a Magical Day,

Cristina

I am very disappointed. This made for a great trip last year and I can't justify staying on-site and possibly going at all without this perk....especially if Big Thunder and Space Mountain aren't running. Big sigh...

I got curious so picked up the phone to see if I could get some answers regarding 2004 unlimited fastpass. I just got off the phone with WDTC and the CM said that yes, WDTC will no longer offer the unlimited fastpass, even with a resort hotel stay but.... if you book a travel package with AAA and stay at one of the DL hotels, then you get the unlimited fastpass!! I told her that I thought it would make more sense the other way (ie, WDTC offer the perk) but she gave me this explaination: WDTC has a much larger client base and by restricting the unlimited fastpass perk to AAA packages only, they are hoping to make the fastpass lines shorter. She said that WDTC & AAA have a great working relationship. Obviously, WDTC sells more of the packages so it would cut down on the number of people who get unlimited fastpasses!

Food for thought!!
