Can you do this? Is it OK?

Can DH get a fast pass for one attraction and I get a fast pass for another attraction then when DH uses his FP, we get a parent swap ticket for me to ride, then I will use my FP for the second attraction, and get DH a parent swap ticket for him to ride? If this is the case, we could get 2 FP's at the same time.... It seems to good to be true... :confused3

FYI...We will be at WDW with our 2 yr old and 1 yr old so we will need to use the Parent Swap perk. This is our first trip as a family so if anyone has any other tips on Parent Swapping or touring with Toddlers, I would love them!!!!

I believe you both have to have a FastPass to enter the FP queue, even with Child Swap. It's a good idea though!

Ok... See this is where I am confused :confused3 I have read several different versions of Parent Swap but the consenses seems to be that when you parent swap, you get a 'ticket' to come back any time (even days later) and use the fastpass line for yourself and up to 2 other people (that doesn't matter in our situation since it will be just DH, myself and our 2 small children)

So my thinking was, if that is really the way it works, then for example, DH could get a FP for Splash Mountain and I could get a FP for Big Thunder Mountain. Then DH could ride Splash and we could get a Parent Swap ticket for me to use later then I could go ride Big Thunder Mountain with my FP and get him a Parent Swap ticket that he could use later... Doing this, we could have 2 Fast Passes at the same time and not have to wait till after our 'return window' to get the next one...(of course this would only work at those Fast Pass attractions that have a height restriction) I hope this makes some sense and someone can clarify how this all works for me. The last time I went to WDW was back in 1993 before FastPass and well before I ever had to worry about having children to take care of.... :)

Last time we were there last fall, it was exactly as you described and it probably could have been done.

But before going, I had read that each person must have a fast-pass ticket to do rider switch, even the one not riding right away, so we always got 3 (we have an older dd who rides the "big" rides with us.) They never asked for the third one, though. In fact, once when we tried to show the CM all three, he handed one back to me (waiting with toddler), and said "you don't need this one, you can give it to someone else if you like". So, we'd give our extra fast-passes away to people getting in the stand-by line by themselves.

Anyway, I guess I'm saying I think it'd work, but I don't know the official policy. Just be forewarned that it's possible you'll get a CM who wants to see both FP's before handing out the rider switch ticket.

Have a great trip!

This is what we do. We decide if we want Fastpass for a ride or not and DH runs and gets 4 for me, him, and our older DD and we use younger DD's Fastpass for us.

Then we go to the ride and ask the CM at the entrance how they handle Parent Swap. Usually they will then give us a special rider swap Fastpass good for up to 3 people for the rest of the day and sometimes good for u to 3 days!

Then we take turns. Dh goes with older DD with 2 Fastpasses while I wait outside with younger DD. Then I go with older DD with the 2nd two Fastpasses. Then one parent gets to ride a second time with older DD with the special rider switch Fastpass.

Now, you can also do this (which is what you are asking). If I don't want to ride RnR, DH can get a Fastpass for himself while I get a Fastpass for ToT. We all head to the entrance and ask the CM how they handle parent swap. He hands us a special rider switch Fastpass. DH rides RnR with his Fastpass while I wait outside. Then when he gets out, I ride with the special rider switch Fastpass.

Then we head to ToT. Again, ask how they handle parent swap. Then give us the special rider switch Fastpass. I ride alone with my Fastpass. DH waits outside. When I'm done he rides with the rider switch Fastpass.

Of course, the above situations all depend on the return times for the Fastpasses you got at RnR and ToT. Hopefully, you have enough time to use both ride's Fastpasses you got.

You can also do that with stand by line as well if the line isn't very long. The second parent then uses the special rider switch Fastpass for his/her turn.

They will only give rider switch Fastpasses to those with children UNDER the height requirement. If they are tall enough to ride, they will make you switch at the ride itself. Also, the CM at the entrance will want to see the child you are asking to swap for.

Thanks so much this really helped me out...We are going with our 4 yo and 20 mo....The last time we went we did the baby swap but never did it with the fast pass. We will definitely have to try it out this time. :thumbsup2
