I am going to be at Disneyworld with my parents (in their sixties) in October. At Animal Kingdom, they likely won't be doing the more extreme rides like Expedition Everest, so I was trying to help out with some Fastpass ideas for them.

I saw they offer one for Festival of Lion King....what does that get you exactly? Some kind of better seating area? I don't recall ever having to wait for more than one showing of those performances during non-peak season.

Is it worth booking a Fastpass slot on this, or other shows? :confused3

You get to go in before Standby lines which means first pick of seats. It's great if you want to be able to sit in the front row. If you don't care where you sit then FP isn't necessary.

We had a FP+ for FOTLK last month.

It allows you to walk to the attraction 15 minutes before the show and get a seat in one of the short bleachers. You do not get the choice to sit in the front row, but because it is a short bleacher, you will be close to the front.

No wait, slightly better seats.

Q: Is it a good use of FP+ ?

A: If you eliminate the thrill rides, there isn't much else to do with a FP+ at AK other than the safari ride, Finding Nemo and FOTLK.

We were in the front last year, obviously not the first row as that is reserved for wheelchairs & their family but it is the 3rd up but to me it's still front due to the fact if no wheelchairs are there you pretty much front row & that was our experience last year and every year before.

It allows you to get seats up close and not have to show up so early. We were in the 3rd row, right up close.

We had booked a fast passes for Dinosaur, but it went down during our time slot. We received a notification on the MDE app that we could use that fast pass at any attraction we wanted for the rest of the day instead. We were on our way to the last showing of Lion King and saw the large stand by line, so we decided to use our fast pass there. We scanned our band (didn't need to manually switch it or anything) about 10 minutes before the show started and got right in. We were pleasantly surprised.

It certainly wasn't necessary--we probably could have gotten seats toward the back by standing in line. But it was nice to be up front. If you weren't interested in Everest, Kali, Dinosaur, etc, then yeah, I think it's a good choice.
