I know that in the past you could enter the ride at anytime later than your fastpass indicated....we did this numerous times last May. If the fast pass stated to come back between 1-2pm you could come back at 4 or 5pm and they would still honor it. Does anyone know if this is still the case? I'm just going crazy about all the talk about crowds. Trying frantically to plan our trip for next week. Thanks!!

We were allowed to use fast pass just yesturday later than the assigned time. We didn't mean to, but it did work fine.

I thought I knew all there was to know about FP, but this is news to me! I thought that once the hour for your FP has passed, it was null and void. I guess next time I miss my "window", I'll still try using it.

Thanks for the tip!

last week, some CM's would let people in while others said sorry, get another FP. The ones who would let people in were letting in people whose FP had passed quite recently, though, that I noticed.

We did this a couple times over Easter. They allowed us to use them, but not until they made it clear we were "late". It didn't bother my Dh, but I felt guilty.

We were at Disney the week before Easter week and we were able to use all our expired Fastpasses. Some were barely expired, others a few hours old. No problems.

In so many different trips we have seen both, lots of times when people were turned away...because they were using passes several hours old.
A few times when people were a 1/2 hour or so late and allowed on the ride.

It certainly depended on the ride, how busy things were, and the cast member on duty.
I know for our family were once around 10-15 minutes late and reminded we were late, but allowed on the ride. So after that embarassment we have made sure to arrive on time for our fastpass from then on.

I certainly don't want to do is miss my "biggie ride" that I have obtained a pass for because I was late, or trying to bend a rule, or have been humilitated by a cast member that is just doing their appointed job.

You should certainly know that you don't want to arrive BEFORE the time on your pass. It is so silly why people stand around if front of the fastpass entrance and ask every 30 seconds "is it time yet, is it time yet"?

Don't arrive early and don't arrive late and fastpass will work as it was designed and be a smooth and pleasant trip for your families!

I have missed a window due to a PS snaffu and was not able to use our expeired FP. On our Feb trip I witnessed quite a few groups in front of us that were also not permitted to use an "expired" FP.

If you miss your window accidentally then there is no harm in trying to ride late. Personally I would not plan my strategy on using expired FP's especially if it is a must do ride for you or your family.

Hmm... it's always so interesting reading of others' experiences! And this time i'm really surprised, too!

We just returned where we often missed our FP times! With two teens, we used FP alot, and i do mean ALOT. All day everyday, since we were only in the parks three full days.

Each and every time we were late, they let us right in! Not a word was said, or even a *look*. Often times we were running late. But there were times when an attraction, like Space Mountain, broke down during our FP time so we left, coming back hours later and walking right on. (well, not quite *on* as the FP line was about 15 min. long, but you kwim!)

One of the exceptions is when a ride is down for a while, you can use your fp anytime that day. If a ride is down all day I have been told you can use the FP anytime during your trip. This happened to us at Epcot and TT was down all day, we never made it back to use the FP so I don't know if it holds true.

Hi TJ, i realize that was the case in the one instance (w/space mountain) but there were several times that *we* were late, unintentionally, but late regardless. They still let us on! I really think CM's do all they can in every way to accomodate guests and make it the *happiest place on earth*!

I know that we were sure happy!

I agree that most CM"s will try and accomodate, what I fear is people start couting on using them. At some point I anticipate the CM's will start to have to deny the late access as they often do now. I have seen the back up of those who try and use the FP early and are made to wait, I can't imagine if (or when) the CM's have to enforce the late times as well.

Having been denied late access myself already and seen many others denied on our last visit I anticipate this to become more the norm than the exception.

Realizing that your experience was different than mine I can only report on what I have actually experienced. In my experience, the CM's were enforcing the ride window, no early ride, no late ride.

I found two exceptions:\
1. If the ride went down that day during your window you could ride anytime later if the ride became active.
2. If the ride was down for the entire day you would ride anytime during your visit.

The above experinces were in October and December of 04 and February of 05. (Hoping for a new experience in August and October of 05!!).

I still would want to warn someone that if they want to ride - ie a "must do" then be on time for your window and you won't have to worry.

Even though they don't pay too much attention to the time it is sort of cheating because you're not allowed to do this. If they saw it was a later time they would NOT let you in the FP line. Its not fair to others who actually have that ride time and then have to wait longer because your not going to obey the rules. If you could go on at anytime you felt like then you wouldn't have people waiting in front of the FP entrance for there time to roll around. It defeats the purpose of the entire line and the time window. I know people who use FP's from weeks and years ago because the date is printed so small, this is also cheating. If your not going to obey the rules, get in the standby line (the only line you can get in at anytime). The point of the FP line is to get you on faster. WDW DOES NOT WANT YOU WAITING IN LINE. Thats why they created FP, because when your in line your not spending money. Bottom line is you may not use the FP after your time expires, and that is exacticaly why, it has expired.

When we were there the end of January we were told that we could come anytime after our fastpass time until the end of the day.

Another thing we noticed was that the baby swap passes were valid for 2 days (at least for test track). We always assumed they were for that day only.

DS just told me the same thing last night! (hadn't come up in conversation before). When he was getting FPs for us (he always ran ahead for them) he had a similar conversation with a CM.

Again, we never intentionally *tried* to be late, but things DO happen. And like anything, hopefully people won't make a habit of it (who would?) but i'm thankful CM's use common sense and allowed us on.

We were just there last week. We had 8 people in our group and used fastpass continously. I always had a stack of them in my pocket, as I was the designated "fastpass getter." We spent 5 days in the parks, and only used our fastpass in it's "allotted" time twice - Once for space mountain and once for Buzz. All of the others were used later (in many cases much later) than the time printed on the tickets. Not one time did anybody say one word about being late, or even give me a "look". They gladly took them each and every time and we walked right on. It worked out great as MK was very busy the days we were there. I actually planned my itinerary based on using expired fastpasses. Until this thread I had never heard of anyone getting turned away with an expired fastpass. Maybe I just got lucky! :rolleyes1 Either way, we had an absolute blast  and everything worked out great!
