Our 60 day window opened last nigh, reviewed the info from mesaboy's tutorial concerning FP, wrote out my selections, stayed up till 11, we are central time, got everything we wanted and for a party of 7 on top of that. That included Sorin, Space Mt, Toy Story Mania, and several other mainliners. Most of the times were pretty good and in the time frame I wanted them. The selections for Epcot and Hollywood kind of stink because they only allow you to pick one good one and two whatevers. So we will just try to get to Testtrack as soon as we hit the park. Yeaaaaaa, kiddo's are going to be excited. Didn't even have problems with the group checking in two days apart. I got all 7 on the first day we check in.

Sounds like my experiences - even last year for Christmas week. Typically, the main issues have been 7DMT and A&E but from all reports, the craziness has been dying down now that they have been around for a while.

The constant complaining by people over the new FP system is overblown. I have done several trip plan scenarios for friends this year and at no time, regardless of time of year, was I not able to get the FPs they requested. I have even done them within 30 days and still had zero issues. If you read how it works and just plan it out, it works absolutely fine. People hate change and will complain just to complain, even when they had not even tried it themselves. Mob mentality that because others said so it must be that bad. Reality is, the system works just fine if you plan it right.

I had a similar experience Saturday night/ Sunday morning. I booked all 8 park days in 40 minutes. Got all the experiences I wanted including mine train twice and A&E on day 8. Some things were quite picked over on the first couple of days ( no A&E, mine train, ETWB, splash mtn, etc), and times slim pickings, but just had to adjust times. Only one threw me and had to make some changes which took a couple extra minutes. I even went back on yesterday and changed a few.

I love FP+ and have never had an issue getting what we wanted. As a matter of fact, FP+ is more of a perk as we tend not to get to the park until late morning. Love to take our time in the mornings and when we would get to the park when FP- was available, we either weren't able to get ones for what we wanted (Soarin, TSM, etc) because all FP were gone for the day or it was so late in the day or conflicted with an ADR, it was usually a bust.

I had fairly good luck but could not get A&E at all during our stay and could not get 7DMT except for our last day.

Everything else was easy. Disappointing that the two hot tickets were so hard but that was a bit expected.

Glad that it worked for you. Note that none of the attractions you named have ever been much of a problem to get at 60 days or even 30 days out.

Yep, me too! My window opened Sunday and I had no problem. Even got multiple 7DMT days, and took them because I should! We found there aren't really many rides that are must-dos for us anyway. Jingle Cruise at night, Thunder Mountain night and day, Peter Pan. Beyond that, doesn't matter if we do them or not, we are doing our last night EMH (Wed before T-giving) with NO FPs. We're doing HS that morning, and using them. Evening EMH will be wing it - Philharmagic, People Mover, Tea Cups, Little Mermaid, Castle Show. I'm feeling good about it.

So glad it worked out for you!

We went in July and got everything we wanted at 30 days out (stayed up until midnight each night for a week) right when we wanted. Now looking at the Dibb site it looks like I would have a much harder time getting the same things, some of what we got (7DMT/Wishes) are pretty much gone for 60 days already and I was off site.

 Good for you op! I've done it twice so far and had similar results both times. Like you, I usually have Mesa's tips in front of me.

Excellent I'm so happy you had a positive easy experience doing so! People hate me apparently because I champion the system, but the ease and convience has worked out great for us!

Again when you return update is on how it went!

We like the FP+ system too. We've been to DL and DCA and also to Tokyo DL and DisneySea this year and used the old FP system at those parks. We kept wishing we had WDW's system instead.

I've been to those parks as well over the last year or so, and I've preferred the legacy system. Just goes to show everyone's different.

I also had a great experience booking FP+ attractions for our Oct 21-30 trip. I got a few Seven Dwarfs Mine Train passes, and got all of the other main attractions on various days for the specific park days I wanted. The only thing I wasn't able to get was a Main St Electrical Parade FP+ for 10/21 (our arrival night) which is fine.

I booked our FP+'s 57 days out, because we were away on vacation and I forgot! =( I got everything we wanted except A&E... my sister-in-law didn't do it until 45 days out (she's not very tech-savvy so I had to tell her how) and she couldn't get 7DMT (or A&E which her kids didn't want anyway) but she got everything else she wanted at good times.

Some people take the difficulty in getting a very few things and turn it into not being able to get anything.

From what I've experienced and read about there are 4 things you might have problems getting- A&E, SDMT, Wishes and the parade. In all of WDW, there are 4 that are the most difficult to get.

Congrats OP, your experience matches ours for the 3 trips we've made. We got everything we wanted and that did include the hardest to get. No problems at 60 days out on stays of 3, 4 and 8 night stays during both slower and busier times.

Can you link the video that you saw? I usually get most things but would love some more insight. :-) thank you

My 30 day window opened up this week and so far I've faired well. The only thing we could not get was 7DMT. We'll do standby. My only big complaint is being limited to the number of fastpasses. Several years ago we would get as many as possible in one day. That was awesome!
