Fast pass and rider swap confusion

Ok, so this is the way I’ve always done it, I book the same FPs for everyone in my party regardless of whether or not they can ride the ride or not. And we get rider swaps so that Whoever is left watching the kids doesn’t have to go on the ride alone and someone, usually a kid gets to go twice.

But....after reading tons and tons of posts from others on the subject, I find lots of conflicting info. Do CMs not scan everyone’s band at the ride entrance before giving a rider swap?

And if so, does that mean, the adult with the rider swap can ride the ride with 2 others using the swap and then ride it again with their fast pass that was never scanned?!

Or do I just rebook them a different FP for a ride that doesn’t require RS and they go ride that with the small kids??

So I gusss my real question is:
Do CMs scan everyone’s band for FPs at the entrance of the ride when getting rider swap?

They did not scan everyone's band, but because we are linked they were able to scan my band and tell me who in my party had a FP and who did not.
