Fast Pass and Big Thunder RR

So,this past Saturday was the day I could start making FP reservations for our last week in August visit. There were no issues with any ride- got FP's for Soarin,Test Track, Frozen Ever After, Peter Pan,TSM, everything but BTRR. Everyday, it stated that FP's for that ride was unavailable. I couldn't tell if it was because they were all taken or if it was mechanical related. It just seemed odd that it was for everyday that whole week(8/24-9/1). I couldn't believe I could get Soarin and Frozen, but not the RR!
Is it mechanically down for that week or are all the passes really taken?
If it's passes,then we can mosey over after our 8am breakfast at BOG,do rope drop and do BTRR before going over to Splash MTN for our 9:05 FP's ( good till 10:05).
If it's mechanical, then I know not to think about it.....
Anyone know about this?

That happened to me as well when i was trying to get splash mt on the first monday in January (2 years ago now) I couldn't understand why nothing for any time that day was available. Then as we were there for our trip my husband pushed us to ride it the night before(even those it was cold out we did it), good thing because the next day (the day i was trying to get the FP) we saw it drained for yearly maintenance. I wonder if there is a place to look for planned closures. I am sure there is but that is probably something i will want to look at prior to making plans/FP for our next trip.

Big Thunder Mountain is scheduled to reopen on our arrival day - 11/18/16.

What is WDW's history with reopening on time?
I'm not sure if I plan for a FP? Just in case it isn't open during my week, I don't want to "waste" one and have WDW change it out the day of, or something like that.
