ok, so my plan is to make an adr for before or after any fastpasses we can accumulate. we are going december 16-30 so this is my plan for dec 16th. magic kingdom day. ride the rides all morning....and collect fastpasses before we leave, go home for naps, come back for dinner and rides...

but when should we make the adr for.....to get the use of the fastpasses.

i know its hard to predict the future...but i have to make ressies soon and want to get them for a time so we can maximize our ride time..

so my question is.... at about 1 pm on december 16th....if i was to collect a fastpass for a ride what would my return time be?????

That completely depends on how many fastpasses have already been given out at the time you get yours. For a popular attraction the return time could be quite late, or it could be in about an hour if the attraction is not so popular.

You can use your fastpass for anytime during or after the return time. We hung on to our fastpasses for several hours sometimes and then returned when it was convenient for us.

thats what i wanted to know..so we can use them anytime after they become 'valid' .....!

so if i was to collect a fast pass at say 1pm what do you think my return time would be?

It depends on the ride, it really does. That's completely impossible to answer because it depends on how many have been given out. I've seen FP showing a time an hour from then, or 5 hours from then. It's not possible to even try to predict a time, it's really not.

there is absolutely no way to know. But it doesn't expire (you can use it a week later if you want). So, it shouldn't affect any dining reservation that you make.

Some places a 1pm fastpass may have a return time of an hour later.

others like Toy story mania might be all gone for the day by 11am, so at 1pm there may not even be one.
You are going during pretty much the busiest time of the year. If you aren't a disney veteran, you can pretty much expect any plans that you make to be out the windown when you get there.
The key is to have a small list of some rides that you want to hit. A small list of places that you would like to dine. A small list of things that you would like to see or shows you would enjoy. Do those and fill in the blanks as things pop up.

You won't be able to do it all. You won't be able to predict fastpass times until you put your card in the machine. Just plan on using a fast pass after you dine if necessary.

Just take is slow. Educate yourself on what your family might enjoy and plan to go back 7 million more times like the rest of us crazy people!..

above everything...enjoy your trip!
(the Grand Floridian usually has a REAL life size gingerbread house in the lobby. You don't have to be staying there to visit. You might want to check it out...it's on the monorail line from the MK...good place for down time with busy parks).

But it doesn't expire (you can use it a week later if you want).

You can only use it on the date it's issued.

I have tried to use a day-old Soarin' fastpass once and was turned down.

Concur - this is not true. FPs are good only on the same day you get them, but you can use it anytime after the window opens on THAT day.

thanks everyone for the great advice. i showed my kids the list of rides that have fast passes and they picked the one they really want to ride so we will get a fastpass for that (if there are any available!) and see how it goes.

you all are so wonderful the advice!
