Fast food drive thru error - WWYD?

I havent seen this one asked, but Im sure its been asked a hundred times. Went through the McDs drive thru this weekend and ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. Got a minute down the road, unwrapped my sandwich and it turned out to be an egg mcmuffin instead. I was starving and wolfed it down anyways. I was really annoyed but there were bigger battles to fight so I just let it be. What would you do?

Little pet peeve here, to veer off topic for a sec ....

The OP wasn't "starving", the OP was "hungry." There's a difference.

If the OP was truly starving, it wouldn't have mattered what was in the paper, as long as it was edible. What the OP was was "too hungry to care about getting the right sandwich." And, clearly, more hungry than annoyed.

Sorry ... just had to ...

:earsboy:

Actually, the OP did use the words starving and wolfed it down.

Unless I was in a rush or in the middle of nowhere with no access to other food, I would have gone back. I'm picky about what I like to eat. I'd rather wait than eat something that I dislike.

The worst was a few weeks ago I was at Mc Donald's getting food for the kids and ordered a few hamburgers and two fruit and yogurt parfaits. I paid at the first window, then drove up to the second window to get the food. They handed me a bag with all the hamburgers, said "have a nice day" and closed the window. I knocked on the window and told the lady I was missing the parfaits. She said, "I'm sorry, we're out of those tonight" and was about to close the window again! I told her I had paid for them and she said, "I know." I asked her if I could get my money back, and she said no but I could substitute for two small drinks, which I did.

I was angry and haven't gone back to that Mc Donald's again.
At least you didn't call 911! :rotfl:

call and tell the manager and they will give you a free one next time you go

That's weird, why did my post end up here twice?

I eat it if it's something I like or give it to someone else if I don't want it. ALSO, I call the store and explain what happened. They take my name and give me whatever was messed up or missing the next time I go. I do try to check in the parking lot, though.

That would SO not work for me. I would be the customer that would sit there and say "Then I should have been told you were out before I paid. Find the Manager so that he can refund my money" And my car would not move until they did. But that's just me.

I am also the customer that sits right there in the Drive-Thru window and checks my entire order to make sure it is right before I pull away. Too many times I have had to park and go in to get something fixed.

Once I was missing an item in my bag, circled around, went back in and said "I was missing a fries" and they flat out called me a LIAR and refused to give me my fries. Well....no problem lady, the next day I called the manager and complained, gave her name. He refunded me my entire order $$.

This has happened to me before, and I just let it go. ...But I DID think it was annoying.

I would likely just eat whatever it is if I liked it. In some cases it's not acceptable though. For example I've gotten cafe latte instead of chai latte at Starbucks. I don't drink coffee so that's not acceptable.

Biscuits, muffins, I can't eat either. What I can't stand is sugar in my coffee. My typical Dunkin Donuts order for coffee is, "Coconut coffee, cream only, light, no sugar. Now and then I circle back around the drive thru and hand it back to them.

exactly what I do at any place that screws up... drive right around and hand it back to them! LoL. Love it!

:thumbsup2, Exactly, since when is getting something I paid for and clearly stated I wanted now my problem if you don't give me what I ordered. I expect what I paid for and nothing less. I hate having to return orders. We order no cheese on our burgers and no salt on the fries. I do not have the stomach to eat fake cheese, and I haven't had salt on my fries willingly for years:rotfl:

There are only 2 times when I would go back:

1st: if they put mayo on the sandwich
2nd: if they put egg on a breakfast sandwich (I'll get like bacon and cheese mcgriddles, etc)

The only reason....because I am allergic to eggs. So a mistake like that is harmful to me.

On the 2 separate ocassions I've gone to McD's for breakfast (yes, only 2 times!) I've ordered the same thing -- sausage biscuit, no egg and a hashbrown. The first time I got a sausage mcmuffin, no egg. Which I ate anyway. The second time I got about 5 minutes out, peeled open the wrapper (at a stoplight lol!) and had an EGG MCMUFFIN. I can not stress enough how much I hate eggs. I can't smell them without gagging. I can't touch them, cooked or uncooked. I can't eat them or any food that has touched them. *GAG* I wrapped it back up, opened all the windows to air out the nasty smell, and took it back to McD's... I went right up to the drive thru machine and told them. No problemo, made me a new one and gave me a "get free hashbrown" coupon for next time I went. Which I never used LOL!

I worked with a girl whose brother drove to California and back and ate free the whole way. Stopped regularly at McDonald's and told them that they screwed up his order and the manager said they would make it right the next time he came in. They gave him free meals the whole way. :rolleyes1 (She had been a manager at one before getting married. I always wondered if that helped, that he knew how they handled messed up orders.)

We rarely go to a fast food restaurant. When we've ordered something at a drive-thru, we always checked. If we forgot to and got home to find that it was messed up. We called. Usually they didn't want the food back anyways and always said "let us know when you come back and we'll replace it."

I think I have yet to go through a McDonalds drive thru with the order correct, so I check before I pull away (when you ask for a plain burger, no ketchup, it never seems to happen).

I feel the pain. They seem to get it right at my mcdonalds but NEVER BURGER KING.
I keep at mcdonalds when I go, but I rarely do go.

"Can I have a cheeseburger PLAIN. WITH ONLY CHEESE."
"So you just want bread and meat?"
"bread, meat, and cheese please"

pull up to burger king, oh look, mayo, mustard, tomato, pickle..

I'm just like "GAH!"

I'd wonder what the heck made me go to McDonald's for breakfast and then I would never ever ever do it again.
I'm guessing that it was the convenience, the yummy food, and the inexpensive price, not necessarily in that order.

Burger King story....In the morning they serve Bacon Croissan'wiches and Sausage Croissan'wiches. Both are made with a croissant, egg, cheese and the variable...sausage or bacon.

I order a bacon croissan'wich. I pay for it, get it and drive away. Look at the sandwich. Croissant and two slivers of bacon. No egg, no cheese. There literally was no weight to the food. No substance.

I pull in, park, take it in, it's raining on top of it, and they actually argued with me. Because I just said bacon croissan'wich and did not say the other ingredients. :sad2:

Unbelievable. I'm sorry but that's just nuts. When you order a Whopper, do you reiterate each and every ingrediete? No...you say, "Whopper, no tomato". Did you have to mention the meat? No.

Huge pet peeve of mine to have to leave and waste my time driving back to wait in line again to show them their mistake that should have never happened the first time. Now I stay there until it's checked.

Where do they get these people?
