Hi! just wondering what to plan on wearing for July/Aug trip! Would like to look nice! :rotfl: Thanks for sharing!

Graphic T's, tailored shorts, and walkable sandals. I've been checking the Disney store and Target regularly for the ones that are the most Disney but with the right amount of irony.

I've froze during Aug going in and out of the AC, so there is a cardigan in my park bag every day.

The thing I love about WDW is that any pressure I feel to look good in the 'outside world' vanishes in favour of comfort once I'm on property!

That said, I wear denim or khaki shorts with a light-coloured tank top almost every day I'm in a park, and then usually a sundress or playsuit when I'm not in the parks. As cool as sundresses are, I find wearing a dress in the parks a pain because I spend a lot of time worried that they'll ride up when I'm getting on/off rides and I'll flash everyone! :lmao:

The coolest possible, and yes I am wearing my tennis shoes with my capris.. Going for comfort and coolness. I will never see the 100,000 people again so style is out the window.

OP, I totally get why you want to look nice on vacation. It's not about looking nice for other people, it's about looking nice for yourself! You also want to know you look great in those vacation photos too!

Sundresses is a good idea. I wore skorts with tank tops/tube tops, racer back tops with shorts, and sundresses. If you're worried about unknowingly "flashing" someone in a skirt or a dress, you can always wear booty shorts under it. If you plan to go on the water rides in MK or AK, be careful not to wear anything that might become see-through when wet...My sister didn't know about Kali and wore a white shirt on our AK day...with a black bra...

I agree with a PP about bringing a cardigan or light jacket in your bag because it does rain and when you go into a store or a bus, it will be FREEZING on top of you being wet.

When it comes to shoes, just wear whatever is most comfortable.

I had some tops made for me by a local seamstress. I purchased Disney fabric on eBay and then had her make a basic top with matching colored straps for them. Then found some capris and comfortable sandals to match.

Comfortable walking length khaki shorts and my new NIKE designed shoes--you really notice footwear there-- with socks (no sandals for me):rotfl:I puruse resale shops for light-weight appropriate shells with sequins, or other high-end details. Then some funky jewelry and I'm set:thumbsup2I love to look good at WDW! :cutie:

I live in sundresses while at Disney! I tend to favor tech fabrics b/c they are great in the heat and humidity. Prana makes some really cute, fashionista friendly dresses and if you look you can find them for better than retail prices. (backcountry.com, rei.com are my go to websites!)You just have to keep an eye out for sales. Lole also makes some great tech fabric sundresses, very cute and swingy. Athleta.com has the best "sport" dresses out there, but they are PRICEY. Sales are good though if you can catch them! Patagonia's Bandha dress looks really dressy even though it's a stretchy tech fabric. There is a longer version and a shorter version. Both really cute and flattering!!

As for shoes I am a flip flop person. Teva mush are my mainstays. I have never had a problem wearing them while at Disney. My feet have never bothered me at all. I also have several pairs of Privo flip flops. A bit dressier, more sturdy...but still comfy...although most Privo flip flops don't perform well when they get wet, as in caught in a sudden and very fierce rain storm! They get wet and stay wet for quite a while. If I want to get super princessy and go for the sparkle I LOVE Yellow Box flips! Lots of sequins options!!:rotfl:

Being at Disney does not sway me from my desire to look cute and fashionable whilst avoiding the pitfalls of humidity and sweating!:thumbsup2

PS-I ALWAYS have my favorite hoodie with me in my backpack. The AC at Disney is STRONG and you will freeze if you don't have something to put on while inside!!!

I know I will hate all of our pictures if i don't like what I am wearing. I am going with sundresses and flip flops.

Light layers. Tank with over shirt (sunprecautions clothing has built in sunscreen... wouldn't go to Florida without it) and long shorts to avoid chafing. Wool socks (yes, wool socks are way more comfortable than cotton socks) and good sneakers.

Before we go back to the parks in the evening, I soak the soles of my feet in ice water for about 15 minutes. Brings them back to life.

I normally wear walking shorts or capris with a t-shirt or cute tank top. Flip Flops are what I live in during hot weather. I always fix my hair and put my make-up on too. I would not like my vacation photos if I didn't look cute.

Last August I wore a sundress one day, but my legs got chaffed. I needed some BodyGlide...or something. I was miserable in my dress that day. Make sure to have something for chaffing.

So happy to see this thread! I am going for the first time in cooler weather (11/27-12/2). Normally, I wear a dress and sandals in the evening when we are w/o children, because I like to and every night is date night when we are alone. Reading the avg weather with the 50s at night, I'll be fine with a shrug or sweater, but wonder if I'll look silly in sandals in Decemebr? Any thoughts/opinions/experiences?

You took the words right out of my mouth! Khaki shorts do better (comfort wise) when wet then denim so I usually go for khaki. As for tops - everything I wear is bright and light. Bright so my friends/family can spot me a mile away, and light to deal with the heat. As for sun dresses - they're cute if you're just going to be walking around.. but, agreed, they're mostly a pain.

You ask
wonder if I'll look silly in sandals in Decemebr? Any thoughts/opinions/experiences?

Wear whatever is comfy to you. If you ever feel silly.........look around! There is always someone who looks sillier! :rotfl: Who really cares! Well to be honest I cared more when I was younger but now...Comfort is the most important thing. And as a PP said you will never see these people again! Have a great vacation!! :cutie:

The Merrell Circuit Breeze shoes are super comfortable without being ugly. Merrell also makes some really comfortable flip flops, which I actually wore the most. I wore a lot of sun dresses and wished I had brought many more on my trip, but I brought a pair of shorts (chino ones? they were dark blue) from J. Crew that I liked (I usually hate shorts).

I've worn flip flops and dressier style sandals (no heel) at the parks during December and out to dinner and I haven't gotten any funny looks. I live in the South so I'm used to the weather changing a lot. When I went last year, the weather was really crazy and there were days I was wearing shorts and flip flops, and the next day I was wearing jeans a sweater and rainboots so I guess be prepared for anything, and stylish and comfortable at the same time of course! :)
