What color of shoes would you wear with a light grey sweater dress? Would grey tights and black dress boots be okay or would something else work better?

Lots of choices....
the one you mention is fine.
Also black tights and red shoes and red belt.

I dont know that I personally would be able to wear grey tights. I prefer black on my legs.

I would go with black tights and the boots.

If the grey tights are the same colour as the dress then I'd go with the grey tights. But then, I'd want my legs to blend in and not pop out.

Other wise I like the idea of black tights/boots and add a splash of colour with belt or jewellry.

Funny...I just saw your name, but I was going to say I think red shoes would look great.

The black boots would be fine, too.

I love the idea of red shoes but it's for a funeral (I mentioned it in another thread, my DH's Grandma passed away this weekend ) and so I think red shoes are out. My tights are the exact same color as the dress, but I was thinking that black would work as well. It will be cold here and part of the service is at the grave site, so I'm trying to stay warm.

I grieve by over analyzing my fashion choices.

First of all for your loss.

Black tights with the black boots. It'll give you the cleaner line. If the grey tights match the dress your legs will look stubby when tucked into the black boots. Toss a black scarf on up top to pull the color up.

I'm a visual merchandiser for a living, I do this day in and day out.

Sorry about the loss of yor Grandmother But I would keep the tights and shoes the same color.

Black tights and Black boots.. it is appropriate and also streamlined. They will keep you warm.
