Farrior - CLASSLESS

I think Holmgren was dis-respectful for not shaking hands with Cowher at the end of the game, have not heard his excuse for not doing so.. Maybe he congratulated him afterward, but havent heard...

It has been confirmed that they did meet up after the game, just not immediately, or on ABC's camera.

I love trash talking, but NOT AT THE END OF THE GAME... Game was over, shake hands, slap each others ummmm whatever you want to slap..
Unless you were on the field at that time, you really have no idea what exchange went on between the two players. You are assuming.

To be honest, it's interesting that the players and the coaches have shown nothing but respect for eachother, they have all been classy, IMO. It's a small group of the fans (both sides) who have turned this into a pissing contest. Game over, I look forward to the nest season. :cheer2:

No, I thought he should have stayed with the short/med. passing game that was working at the beginning of the game, but hindsight is 20/20. He obviously has more experience than I do, but Cowher made the adjustments that won the game.

Obviously you'll likely disagree, but the plays that were called back or not given to the Hawks would have kept them in the game far into the 4Q. Great game plan and play calls with an ending they had no control over.

Holmgren was still bitter Monday when they had a welcome home party for the team in Seattle...

Something like "I knew we'd be facing a tough Steeler team but I didn't think we'd be opposed by the guys in striped shirts"

Shamelessly lifted from ESPN.com, but spot on:

The striped shirts didn't cause tight end Jerramy Stevens to drop four passes. The striped shirts didn't cause the Seahawks defense to give up a Steelers first down on a third-and-28 situation (which later led to the Roethlisberger disputed TD). The striped shirts didn't cause the Seahawks defense to give up the longest touchdown run in Super Bowl history. They also didn't cause Etric Pruitt to sprint up from his safety position, only to be fooled by the trick play that resulted in Randle El's 43-yard TD pass to Ward (and by the way, if everyone knows the Steelers like to run gadget plays near midfield, don't you think the Seahawks knew it too?). Or cause Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck to throw a killer interception with nearly 11 minutes left in the game and Seattle trailing by only four points.

Enough already with the whining. The Seahawks had their chances. Plenty of them to overcome the Steelers and, if they insist, the refs, too.

Holmgren, who didn't exactly distinguish himself in the waning minutes of both halves, is no doubt suffering some post-Super Bowl anger. Perfectly understandable, especially in front of the thousands who greeted the team upon its return to Seattle. But days, weeks, months from now, when he's able to think more clearly, he'll realize the only people to blame for the loss were wearing Seahawks metallic blue, not black and white.

Like I said I doubt he was inviting him to hop on the Bus with Ward and go to Disney World...

Holmgren certainly hasnt shown any respect, now granted he was talking to his peeps today, but I suspect he will be fined by the NFL for his comments about the refs today. Search some blogs, MANY people arent exactly sending kudos back & forth...

The refs didn't exactly have a good post-season. Not sure what more can be done, but it is frustrating when they have such an impact on a game.

My point was that you do not know what EITHER player said to each other...the Seahawks player could have said something snarky to him, I dunno. It's irrelevant. It was the SB, I think the players have been generally very respectful towards each other.

I totally understand being frustrated by the refs, I do not understand using disrespectful language towards the entire city of Pittsburgh because of your frustration. It is childish.

Gee - not make it too far...just to the Super Bowl

But Dr.Cavin...Wow. that's a little harsh. Not that I don't agree with you just that your just gonna stir it all up again...

Im sorry BriarfoxinWA, I wasnt speaking to the Seahawks fans, I was speaking to the person from the state with 2 football teams (Ohio)

The NFL needs full time referees. They are part time employees. They are lawyers, investment bankers, retired firefighters and accountants.

The ludicrous "He never had possession with his leg up off the ground, doing an act common to the game of football" came from a high school principal.

All great occupations, but they should be working practices and staring at film all week long.

Someone is awfully angry that their team didn't make it too far this year :rolleyes1

Complaining will never change anything, Steeler's had to overcome their share of bad calls ALL SEASON, not just in one game, and look who still comes out on top

:thumbsup2

I do disagree. The short/medium pass is what beat the Steelers in their last loss to the Bengals, and Hasselbeck had plenty of time to set up these plays. Polamalu was hurt in practice, etc. Anyway, they could have actually "WON" not just have been kept in the game a little longer. But that's my opinion, even though I've heard it echoed by a lot of commentators.
