Having these challenges is ridiculous. If I wanted to complete challenges I would play Frontierville or do co-ops.

I think that's part of the point: A lot of FarmVille players are looking for other things to keep them interested in FarmVille, and that's why we're seeing these challenges offered.

I don't know...I think the challenges are kind of fun to do. At least it's something different. After Candy Canes, I have nothing else to farm until level 98.

I don't remember if we are friends or not, but check out my market stall because I currently have electric lilies in my market stall and you should be able to grab 3 bushels a day. I am only level 88, but I wanted to plant them because they are 4xp for a one day crop. So I grabbed a bushel from a neighbor and was able to unlock it that way by using the bushel.

I'm gunning for the Snow Stallion. Only 150 gifts so far but it's only been a day. I've spent 30 gifts for 3 Winter Whimsy gifts in the off chance I'd find one in there. I'm stalking the news feed for gift posts on top of asking for gifts and sending gifts hoping my neighbors will send back. I like the gift system better this year. I ended up selling most of the gifts from last year. I mean, you can only use so many nutcrackers, lollipops, cats, and cows. At least we can be choosy about what we'd like. I'm loving it so far

I'm saving for the snow stallion as well (or 2), and an extra Sneezy Sheep, as I like to have 2 of every sheep. Other than that, I don't really see much of interest. *Maybe* a bear cub. I guess the better prizes are due to be released next week, even though there are pop-ups for them now. I'm at about 200 so far, so I should be good to go by the time they come out. I wonder if there will be anything else released after that?

I know a lot of people loved last year's tree/gifts, but I did not. I don't think I kept anything other than a few lambs and fuel.

Yeah...I have some bushels so I might continue with those. They cost a lot of money though.

BTW...The AMEX statue works for double mastery on Electric Lilies too.

I'm good at gifting, clicking links to send things and sending gifts though the games...but I don't really visit neighbors a lot. Not enough time to do that all the time.

I tried the WW box thing too....got a penguin and Arborists. Just my luck, lol.

I should be at 500 tomorrow, but I am unsure about trading in for the horse. I read on the FV boards that people are trading in gifts, then the item disappears once they place it on their farm. No prize, no gifts.

I have tried over and over again with the winter whimsy boxes for a stallion with no luck, just arborists, 1/5 fuel, large fuel, coins, two ice houses, animal feed, and other such junk.

I did use one ice house and it's okay with the snow and lights (as someone here suggested, thanks!) in my frozen lake area but I wouldn't have purchased it myself. I've heard of other people getting the stallion in the box, I think I tried about 12 times with no luck so I give up and am saving up my presents till I hit 500.

Every time I open a Winter Whimsy box it says I can share it with 5 other people. But then the box to share comes up with no names and says you can share with 0 people. What's the trick with sharing the presents. I have tried 4 times on both a Mac and PC and used different browsers.

The trick for sharing presents, typically, is to wait to send free gifts until after you've finished your play session. If you've already sent all your friends gifts recently, then you can't send more stuff, even if it is more special than what you originally sent them.

Oh, I didn't know that. It's usually the first thing I do in the morning. I'm excited to buy and open my ONE WW gift per day. So I send it to five different neighbors a day. I've accumulated a really great group of neighbors so I'm trying to make sure everyone gets one. No stallion yet though.

The gifts you can send out to friends from trading in presents has nothing to do with the regular gifts that you send out. According to the FV boards, not being able to send out the traded-in gifts is a glitch they are working on.

I guess I don't know what pp means by "trading in presents" (perhaps referring to a part of the game I don't play?) I do know that the various pop-ups that have come up while playing ("You've found a rare blahbidiblah...") are indeed affected by whether you've sent gifts or not.

I kept telling my wife: "They're going to be offering FarmVille Cash for 50% off the day after Christmas." I kept telling her.

I logged in this morning and checked, and nope... full price. Then I clicked away and started playing, and a few minutes later I was offered the 50% deal. She was also offered eventually the deal.

It won't be obvious how to get the 50% offer. (At least it wasn't obvious to me what steps were needed.) But the offer is out there, today, and apparently everyone can get it, but doing some set of steps (perhaps involving showing interest in FV and then declining).
