Is the parking horrible at the Farmer's Market or is it not too bad? I hate driving around downtown areas and finding parking. Also, is there some sort of metrolink train or something that goes to the FM area? It would be fun to get there by train (coming from the IE) and avoid the parking all together but I couldn't tell if there was anything like that in that area. Any tips?

Don't know about transportation, but there's plenty of parking, since The Grove is right next to Farmer's Market and they have a parking garage.

Isn't there a separate parking lot for the Farmer's Market besides parking at the Grove? I'd like to get parking validated and we probably wouldn't buy anything at the Grove.

There is outdoor parking around Farmer's Mkt. I'm trying to remember if I bought anything at the Grove when we parked there. I may be wrong, but I think they might validate for Farmer's Mkt, too.

I just looked it up. They don't validate Farmer's Market purchases, but you can park there and get 1 hour free parking. If you buy something at certain merchants at the Grove, you get 2 hours free parking.

Thanks for the info! So is the outdoor FM parking crazy or is it easy to find parking and to navigate? We don't have anything set in stone but we would probably go on a saturday mornng (around 10am?).

If you get there early you should probably be OK. I know in the summer it's crazier because there are more tourists.

We've been to The Grove/FM at least 10 times since january. We only go on weekdays when we are down in LA for something else

We prefer to park in the FM parking because we always eat at either Marmalade Cafe or The Greek restaurant (I can't remember the name of it). We have gotten to the FM at all times during the day (as early as 9:30 and as late as 6PM) and we have only been able to get FM parking once and that was on a friday morning at 10AM.

The problem with some of the FM parking is that it is not just for the FM. There are other stores (children's place, chipotle, etc) that can be accessed from that parking so it can fill up very quickly.

There is a ton of parking if you arrive early, even on a Sunday morning. We got a great spot in the open parking lot right outside of the diner. Most of the stores weren't scheduled to open for another 15-20 minutes, but there was still a lot of activity. It was a great opportunity to take pics of the food cases while the displays were still nice!

Ulysses is the name of the Greek restuarant. (I live right down the street from FM & The Grove). Marmalade Cafe is good, but I prefer the original mom & pop-owned businesses and food stands inside the original part of the market. Many of those vendors have been there for decades, and they keep it all in the family. The section with Marmalade and Ulysses, etc. seems like The Grove to me, even though it is considered part of FM.

Yeah...I'm not saying that those are the only places to eat. It's just where we eat because I have such severe food allergies and we are very cautious about where we eat. So we stick with larger restaurants because of that.
