Farmers' Almanac Predicts Very Cold Winter!

I am not a farmer, nor do I write an almanac - but I too am predicting a cold winter. It is the last day in August. I should be discussing how in world I am going to cool down the pool water from 102. Insted I am closing the pool because the water has been in the upper 70's for 2 weeks.

Can I move in with you??????

I got a feeling that it's be a cold and snowing winter too. Thank God I don't have to my football job that I had last 5 years the contract end. I don't have work in the cold that's most important thing.

If snows I get stay home because I work for a school.

crazelion - I notice that you too live in TN. Has this not been the coldest summer that we have had in a long time! I told my DH not to plan anything in June because we will be in school until the 4th of July.

(It so rarely snows in Mid TN, that we have about 4 built in snow days, and anytime there is more than 1/8th of an inch of snow, school is canceled. In fact they canceled school this past Jan because of extreame cold. Yep - there was not a drop of percepitation anywhere, but temps were around 10 -15 degrees, so they canceled school)

They cancelled school for 10-15 degree temps?! :eek: I'm moving to Tennessee!! The school district I live near doesn't cancel school unless temps are below -15, and the only reason they cancel then is because the diesel in the buses gels and the buses won't start.

Hahaha! Yep- it was the Friday before Martin Luther King day. The paper said it was because the school board was concerned about children waiting for buses who may not have coats. But I have a sneaky suspicion it was because they didn't want to pay to heat the school, and they wanted a longer long weekend.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl2:

The only time school has been canceled here was when it was -60°-that was the windchill. Our kids still go outside for recess at the temps you are talking about. It has to be -10° either temp or windchill before they stay inside. We must use different diesel because our buses run all winter.
