Hi All,
As crazy as my question is, where else would I go for insider information?
My son's AP French teacher told him that he should do a French Immersion program this summer so that he would be up-to-snuff next year. ANY CHANCE WE COULD DO ONE OF THESE PROGRAMS AT DLP???(Don't say I didn't warn you )
I thought perhaps the park might offer a VIP guide service (like WDW does), and he might get his French fix that way.....

Anyone? :)

Hmm, well I don't know about specific immersion PROGRAMMES but if you are simply looking for ad hoc ways he could immerse himself whilst there, then there is certainly plenty of opportunity.
Some of the shows (e.g. Art of Animation, Stitch Live) offer language options so he could choose to watch/listen in French to test himself.
There is indeed a guide service where you can book tours of the parks - there is a cost for these and I believe you also choose your language, you can book them at City Hall. We were going to do one last November but the weather was too stormy to be outside for so long.
Obviously all the literature and signage in and around DLP is in several languages, you could pick up a French copy of the map?
Finally, the most obvious thing and something I always do, is to speak French to cast members. I find that they are always delighted with my efforts even though my French is quite poor, and they've always been patient with me. This is not always the case in France generally, especially Paris from my experience :rolleyes1 but Disney CMs have to be multilingual (as far as I know) and this would be good practice for your son.

Thanks! I figured he'd soak up plenty of french language/culture there, but didn't know if there was anything more targeted.
I appreciate your DLP expertise :goodvibes

Merci

There is also a private VIP guide service but it is mega expensive at several hundred euros a day.

I couldn't find the info on the official site (I know it used to be there but it's hiding today lol) but there's info about it here on DLRP Magic.

We've done the standard guided tours and they are great value. I don't think I've ever read a review of a VIP tour.

I stumbled across this when trying to book the regular Studio tour. Guest services got the wrong idea of what I wanted and tried to book me onto the VIP one. It's now 500 euros but it "includes rides" which the regular one doesnt - they said this to me several times like it would change my mind. I dont actually know what "includes the rides" means but if it meant fast pass on lots of fast rides (which I dont do) and there were 10 of you (which is the max) then I guess 50 euros each might well be worth it.

Going back to speaking french - I am sure I read somewhere that they have a policy in Disney that they will reply to you in the language you ask the question in. They always take pitty on me and answer in French (in reply to my terrible attempt) then ask if I would rather carry on in English.:rotfl:
