FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan

Am I correct in seeing that the Coral Reef restuarant is now just a regular table service credit for 2006? Wasn't it 2 TS credits before??

I am purchasing a disney one-day ticket that is called "eat and play" through a corporate discount program. The ticket includes a 13-18 dollar lunch/dinner ceritificate. How and where can this be used?

I edited to add that you will not be able to save child credits for adult meals either, they will have their own key card the way I understand it.

The new dining plan documents have no changes in the language regarding how a party may use its vouchers. Consequently, there still is no such thing as "child credits," and anyone in a party may use any of the credits at any time during their stay as long as there are credits left in the pool.

Why does Disney have the Dining plan listed under the Platinum plan when it also states that people get breakfast, lunch, dinner. One the plan comparisons it is not categorized as dining plan but under the plan description
it has the pdf for the dining plan. I used the premium plan last year and it was
b/l/dinner for each night and all the places were 1 credit. I remember the Pop
conciergie changed a 2 credit to 1 on my report as he said it was incorrect.

I am planning on buying my MYW park tickets thru Shades of Green or local military MWR office.

Was wondering if I'd be able to add the dining package to it?

I will also be staying at an onsite resort, but rooms and tickets will be bought separately. (not a "packaged" deal)

Any thoughts...?

From my understanding you have to get the MYW package to get the dining option.

thats how it is or how it was for this fall.

i had the AAA booking and bought the tickets from disney.

had to completely redo my set up of room and tickets only to a package to include the dining program. disney told me it was a package deal only to include the dining. myw

don't know if it has changed for next year though.

i didn't think it was worth it for me. too much food and too much time taken away from the parks .......if i didn't set up adr and use it for the dinners, i would have spent more than what i could have done without the myw program

My family and I (husband, daughter, step-daughter and step-son) will be returning to Disney next year. On our trip this year, my dd was 2 yrs old, not need to buy tixs, my dha nd I bought a 10-day no exp. ticket used 4 days and planned on using the remaining next year. Beginner's mistake in that I would like to purhcase dining plan net year, but was told I cannot due to all in room must have same package and I would need 6 day tix for kids and 0 days for us. Can I buy 1-day tix for group, get the dining pkg and then add the extra 5 days for kids once there?

Yes you can do this but price it out. It may work out better not doing the plan if you have to buy 1 day tickets for everyone & pay rack rate on the room.

I read that this is okay. Can you still do this?

TIA,

K

no, it is not allowed.
a lot of rumors fly about the program and this is one of them.
i used the dining program and know you can't trade.

you can use the counter service for a breakfast if you choice at the counter choices.

I just added dining plan on our AAA package. It looks like a pretty good deal and I like the idea of having meals paid for before we go. Now to plan the best use of those credits.................

We are on the dining plan for Feb. Ijust printed up the diningplan selected restaurants, and after Feb 1, Dinner at Cinderella's royal table goes from table-service to the signature dining experience(dinner at Cinderella's royal table with photo package) Does anyone know what the difference is other than pictures?

I would like to know why there is a photo package. I thought the dinner was not a character meal. If it has become one, I want to try & get ADRs.
HELP. So what is the photo package?

If you go to allearsnet.com they have the details available for the changes. Dinner does not include characters other than Fairy Godmother but does include photo package and unframed lithograph. Breakfast and Lunch are still princess characters and photo pkg only no litho.

Kind of bummed it will be 2 credits but we've loved both breakfast and lunch there. Will be interested to see what they have for the meals. We aren't going until Dec 06 so we have time to see how it all works out.

Ok. I just booked 3 of my 4 breakfasts at GF Cafe. Now I come to realize that it counts as a TS. Could I just pay my breakfast with cash and use my TS for dinner that night? I figure dinner would cost me more, so I'd rather use my TS for that and pay cash for my breakfast.

yes you can.

don't tell them you are the dining program when you do the breakfast.
when the bill comes, pay with cash/cc.

use the ts for the dinner by telling your waiter you are on the dining program

this is what i did.

Thanks Macraven! I'm glad I don't have to cancel all of my breakfast ADR's now that I know I could do that. I appreciate it!!

when i booked a breakfast or cheapo lunch, i paid cash.

i only used my cs for the ones that cost more than some others.
since i booked more than what was on my dining plan, i figured out which was the cheapest and paid for those. saved the meal plan for the others.

did garden grill for lunch $19.99 + tax as cash one day.
