I have some gift cards to use there when I go to Vegas in a few weeks. Wondering what the stores are like. Do they have video game systems and stuff like that. Specifically wondering about Nintendo DS system??

The one around her is more of a specialty store...no video games (that I recall). They are expensive!!!!!!!! Be prepared for sticker shock.

I love those stores.
They have great toys....don't remember video games.

The FAO Schwarz in Vegas is fabulous even if you don't buy anything. It has a huge wooden horse (think of the famous "Trojan Horse") that moves its head up and down, and you can go up and walk around inside the horse. It has several floors with tons of stuff. I'm sure you will find something fun there to use your gift cards on. I don't remember about video games as we never buy those, and we don't even buy anything there anyway -- we just go because it's fun. It's in "The Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace" shopping mall and we just love to walk through that mall. Enjoy!

No way!!! I was just in Las Vegas in September and I totally didn't see the horse's head moving and I had no idea you could go in it! The things I miss out on. :(

Well, it doesn't move its head continually. It just does it every so often -- and its eyes light up when it does so you know it's about to happen. If you're just walking by the store, you might see the horse and if it's not moving its head, you wouldn't know it ever did that.

But if you go upstairs, you can see the spot where you can enter the horse. They have toys in there for sale, and one time it had some toys set up for kids to play with, too. I'm sure what is inside changes regularly.

It's little things like this that make me happy and I wish I would've known about. I'm ashamed that I've been to Las Vegas three times and been in the FAO Schwarz store and didn't know about this.

Don't be too hard on yourself. There are only a zillion things to see in Vegas. In that "Forum Shops" mall, there are statues that move around and do shows several times a day. It's not Disney animatronics, but it's worth a look. The Bellagio's fountains are another great thing to watch -- they usually go off once an hour to music that's played on speakers. The Mirage's "volcano" goes off at night, once an hour for just a few hours, as I recall. And you can also see the Mardi Gras "show in the sky" at the Rio, and the "siren" show at Treasure Island. Oh, and if you go to Margaritaville in the Flamingo Hotel, be sure to wait as a girl really climbs up and gets in the "volcano" there and comes out again. The point is: There is so much to see, you can't see it all -- so just keep coming back like we do. LOL!

Oh, and everything mentioned above is free -- but if you're there anyway, eat at Margaritaville as you simply must try the "cheeseburger in paradise." :)

I visited the one in Orlando. To me they are expensive even for ordinary stuff that can be found at Wal-mart.

Unless you find something exclusive, I would really be cost conscious in my purchases as many of the toys they offer can be found less elsewhere.

I did get to see the Siren show at TI and the fountains at the Bellagio. We didn't even go to the Mirage this time. I went to Margaritaville, but only to shop (I didn't even get a margarita!). And we stayed at the Rio, so I saw the props for the show in the sky, but they kind of creeped me out, haha.
