Fantasyland Castle Numbered Pin

Is it actually the same pin as the fantasyland castle retro pin?

I mean when you buy a numbered one from the shop, does it only appear as a retro pin?

No, it's not the same pin, persay. It is number 4/9 (I believe it's 4, may be wrong) and is the same looking, but it doesn't say fantasyland castle retro pin. The series pin is buyable, and fantasyland castle retro pin is in-park quest, I believe it's one of the extra ones.

it just confuses me that I bought the numbered one from the shop and it appeared as a retro pin, and it definately can't of come from a quest

This is a very confusing pin! At one time the pin you can buy in the game was titled Fantasyland Castle 2/9, but it changed at some point.

The same pin was a prize from the in-park Fantasyland Quest. Below is a link to the list of quest cards on vmk.com:

In the store, the pin is listed as fantasyland #/9. (whatever the # is)

When you buy it and it goes into your inventory, it appears as fantasyland castle retro pin.

Try it, it's magic!

Similar thing with adventureland retro. At one point it was adventureland #/9 (whatever the # is) and now it appears in everyone's inventory only as adventureland retro. So actually only 7 of the 9 pins in that series have the number appearing on them in your inventory.
