Fantasy Western April 28, 2012

Has anyone ordered the CD of photos? It's listed at $300 which seems really high to me. Are there really that many pictures taken on the ship?

It is entirely possible to get tons of photos on your cruise by the cruise photgraphers. They will be in the terminal with Mickey and Minnie before you board. They will be at character meets and in the main lobby before dinner each night. They will even visit you at your table during dinner a few times. There is also a night that they will do individual as well as family portraits. It all depends on how much you take advantage of this service. There is no real reason to decide precruise as you can purchase whatever is the best deal for you at the end of the cruise. I have not purchased the CD but have purchased various discounted "points" packages at the end of the cruise when I had a better idea of what my needs would be. Also if you purchse one of the packages at Shutters you can change to a different package without any problems. They are very helpful.

I need to put up a few more posts before I can collect info from people who want to be part of the FE exchange. I just got ours in the mail from gradysmommy and it looks great! So excited.

Can the person in charge of the website list please change our FE status from YES to NO. We are still cruising but I am getting overwhelmed (as this is our first DCL cruise) and between that and being concierge (and thus being a pain for FE folks to get to) I think we are going to gracefully bow out of the FE exchange this time!

We are still looking forward to the cruise!

I am the person in charge of the website. :cool1:

You are now shown as a "No" for the FE and I have moved you on up near the top of the list, with the other "No" people. ;)

Thanks for advising me of the change. :)

Thanks so much, Shari!!!

Wow, that's so close! I can't wait. I'm hoping others who have been on a cruise before can offer some insider tips. I was told today to pack really lightly because there is hardly any storage for suitcases. True?

And just in case no one is keeping track - only 117 days to go!

As a first-time cruise I have a few questions for those more experienced cruisers:

1. Kids as young as 8 can sign themselves in and out of the Oceaneers Lab/Club. This seems young to me with the ship as big as it is. Has anyone let their kids sign in and out?

2. Is Palo a good dinner night out?

3. Does anyone do pin trading on the ship?

4. What savings do you get if you sign up for another cruise while on board?

5. How far in advance can you book another cruise?

Others will have to answer this.

2. Is Palo a good dinner night out?

I like it.

For categories from 11 through 4,you'll get 10% off the fare, & only need a 10% deposit instead of 20%, & an on-board credit to use as you wish. Amount varies on the length of cruise, & your Castaway Club status. Concierge, I believe still needs to pay full deposit, and don't get the 10% off, but do get OBC (at least in Cat V)

5. How far in advance can you book another cruise?

As far out as cruises are released.

There is less space than on the Magic and the Wonder. However, the beds are higher on the Dream and the Fantasy so suitcases can be stored there. People always say to pack, and then take 1/2 out. :rotfl:

Unless you are Concierge. Then there are DRAWERS under the bed! :sad2:

As for packing - I hope you'll take your own advice on the next two cruises. :rotfl2:

Actually I think Cat V still has the higher bed with no drawers. Cat T has the drawers.

Packing is so hard for me. I want what I want.... What I am going to work on is mix and match to cut down on some of it.

You are going to be SHOCKED when you see how small the bag is that I am taking on the Dream!

I'll be back to my usual medium size bag for the Fantasy. :)

I personally did not let our daughter do this on our last trip...she turned 8 on our cruise. She will be 9 for this cruise and I won't let her this time either. The very last day of the cruise we had already had the club remove her tracker, but then a girl she had met in the club found us and wanted to go back in with Ashli. We thought this was cute so signed her in with a "visitor" tag....not realizing that vistors can come and go as they please. Ashli is a really good girl and is never in trouble and has never been put in an awkward situation (thankfully) but this time she was...the other little girl wanted to go get some ice cream, so they signed themselves out, got ice cream and then apparently cruised the ship alone. Ashli said she didn't know what to do or how to get out of the situation which we of course since have had LOOOONG discussions about this. They went down to the Medical Center and the little girl told them that her mom had a headache and needed some asprin, and they gave it to these girls!!!!!! The girl ended up just throwing them away and then I guess they went back to her stateroom which is when Ashli said she was going to hers. Ashli was more mad at herself then I think we were. She was suppose to go see a midnight movie that night and wasn't allowed to go. She said she didn't want to walk back to our stateroom by herself and figured it was safer staying together. ANYWAYS long story short, even the good kids make bad decisions and I'd rather mine be locked up LOL!!

Aubrey - cute idea!

Shari - I won't be shocked. But I will wonder how a human being can do it.

Okay, okay, I know it can be done. I still remember a retreat trip I took with a bunch of women. We all brought at least 2 large suitcases, except for one girl. She brought a small carry-on. Darn if she didn't have more stuff than we did! She just knew how to pack!

You and I are on the same page! Locked up is better! LOL
