Fantasy Western April 28, 2012

This is my first cruise. I hope you all don't mind but I have a couple of questions.
1. Does anyone know if I should bring towels or are they easy to come by?

2. Do they have blow dryers in the room and if so do they have power?

3. Do they feed us at Castaway Island or do we have to get back on the ship to eat?

:confused3
Thank you for any info

Tracy,

In response to your questions:
1) Plenty of towels:banana:
2) They do have blow dryers and the power is decent. I have really thick hair and take my own for travel, but I have used the built-in one on the ship and it has been okay. My only problem is that it gets quite hot in my hand because of the length of time to dry my hair.
3) Food available on Castaway Cay - Cookies BBQ

Hope this helps!

Hi everyone,
If you are involved in the Fish Extender gift exchange, you should have received an e-mail from me last night with everyone's information on it. If you didn't, please contact me asap so I can update our file.

It's not too late to sign up for the FE exchange! If you and your family want to join in on the fun gift exchange on board the ship, PM me your room number, dining time, names of all family members (with children's genders and ages) as well as your home e-mail address so I can send you the file.

Hali

Thanks for the list! Did not see "mom2kaylee" on the FE list from you, but she requested FE on our cruiser list on our website. They are listed as late dining and OGT for their room, but I am sure they have a number now or soon will. Can you confirm with them?

Also, we are celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary.

Thanks!
Marni

To anyone doing non-DCL excursions (especially any newbies): You may want to keep an eye on the "Ashore" and "Aboard" times for each port on our cruise, as DCL has changed them at least three times in the last six months. Last week Costa Maya was 12:45, was noon to 4:30 at one time but yes, is currently 1 to 5:30. Always safest to give it plenty of leeway on both sides.

Disney will have to use a little of their magic on that day! Our Chacchoben excursion booked through them goes from 12:40-5:40.:rotfl2: That will be one crazy day!

As long as you booked through Disney, no problem! ;)

Hairdryers: The new ships have handheld blow dryers (with attachments) that should be in their own bag on a bathroom shelf or if not, on a closet shelf. They are a lot more powerful than the old built-ins of the classic ships, although still not as good as what most of us probably use. My biggest complaint is that they are very HEAVY. For the sake of my arms, I'll take my little lightweight travel dryer this time!

:thumbsup2 Thanks so much Marni. I have long thick hair so it takes forever to blow it out. You answer me perfect for that question. :goodvibes

Glad to know I don't have to bring towels.

BBQ sounds like fun.

Any Other tips, Or things I should know?
My boarding time is at 11am. Does it take a long time to board the ship? Should I get there at 10:45? I also heard it is okay to bring Alcohol on board in a carry on, is that true?

Thanks for the information. Good to know.

I can't wait for the cruise! If I start thinking about it to soon I get to excited.
:rotfl: I booked it last year and it feels like I have been waiting forever...
However, I am very prepared, I think. lol. Still have lots of stuff to do.

I received our cruise docs booklet today. :cheer2:

Now it REALLY feels close to sailing! :boat:

Hey!! The first time that we experienced the per-arranged boarding times was in October in LA for the Mexican riviera cruise. Our time was 11:30, but we were able to check in at 10:30 when we got there. I think they are a way for Disney to keep the crowds down, but they will check you in whenever you get there. Have all of your documents already filled out and it will be a lot quicker. Last time I checked, Disney has not changed their alcohol policy...you an bring as much as you want as long it is in a carry on. Also, if you plan on drinking in the room, bring some large mugs with you that you an use to fill with soda on the top deck. The only place you can get free soda is the drink staion on the upper deck. Cookies BBQ is good, they recently opened cookies TOO on the island to help with crowds. They also have an area for food in the adult-only area that is for 18 and over. Also, on castaway cay....do not miss pelican plunge!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thank you so much for all the great information. :worship:
I will be sure to bring a couple of mugs.

Tracy :cloud9:

We are still OGT/GTY. Probably will be for another couple weeks, according to Dis. As soon as we know I'll either email everyone or attach it to our gifts!

FYI: My cruise docs state 12:45 for Costa Maya ashore time, so I changed it back to that on our cruise site. It's only a 15 minute difference anyway. Could vary either way.

Hey Hali,
I haven't seen or heard anything about mom2kaylee being left off of our list. Per her recent email, she is definately in. Just don't want anyone accidentally forgotten.

Thanks again,
Msrni

so jealous of those of you who have received your cruise docs!! My TA is on the Fantasy right now, so I know I won't get them for another week until she gets back from her cruise and conference :sad2:
So...back to the shirts...I tried to post earlier this week and my computer was being COMPLETELY posessed. Turns out that the track pad driver was corrupted. All it took was an external mouse for it to be happy again...YEAH!
Anyway...if people like the recently posted design, that's completely fine. What I will need is the design on WHITE-not blue background in JPEG format. If the background is blue, the transfer will have a blue background as well. I will need the text in black-that I can have changed to white. I can absolutely do a blue t-shirt. I will also need PM from people telling me how many, and what sizes. I CAN get ladies shirts that are the same color, but slightly more fitted than a standard shirt so if you want one of those, please indicate.

My TA has them but told me she is just waiting on our Airline tickets....while we have had a awesome spring I'm so ready to take a week off :D

Hello all,

I am a long time lurker, but this is the first time I haven't ever really posted. My wife, son and I are booked for this cruise and just received our cruise docs today. We are very excited and look forward to getting to know you all on here in anticipation of our vacation!

Welcome, long time lurker. lol.... I thought that was so funny. :rotfl2:
I have not received my papers yet. It must take longer to make it to the west side. I noticed all the east coasters are receiving their papers first. "Snail mail"!:scared:

Westcoasters be on the lookout! Our cruise docs finally arrived!!! So exciting! Will be bringing in one of our suitcases to begin packing some of the clothes and other necessities I have begun pulling for our trip.

I forgot to ask, "What is Pelican Plunge? "

it's this really awesome water play structure they built about 20 feet off the Shore by the family beach and the conched out bar. It has two water slides, a dump bucket and multiple water cannons you cn use to shoot spinning pelican targets!!!! You have to swim to get to it and back from it!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:
