We're cruising the NYE Fantasy 7 night EC & currently have room 6074. I reached out to my TA to see if there were any rooms that don't look right over the lifeboats & the other option given was 6518 (forward). I like the idea of midship better than forward, but not sure the lifeboats are that big of an issue.

Lifeboats are really only an issue if you prefer looking straight down from your verandah. Here's a thread with pictures:

We were in 6572 on the Dream last November and we loved the room!! I was really worried about the lifeboats, but they just weren't an issue for us at all. I think I would rather look down on them than someone else's balcony. It was so convenient to have the room right off the elevator lobby. We got off the elevator, turned around, and we were home! We never really noticed any extra noise either. I would not hesitate to book those rooms again. In fact, we are in 7078 on our Dream cruise this year. We would have booked deck 6 again, but they were already taken. And for comparison, I was with my husband and 2 sons (16 and 2). We also had 2 more rooms beside us with more family. It was a great location.

I was in a forward room that was close to the midship section and above a lifeboat on the Dream. I was worried about it reading through the stateroom thread. However, I am motion sickness prone and I prefer closer to midship or midship. The stateroom was quiet and the lifeboat didn't bother me since I usually looked out for the view. Unless you enjoy looking down to see the water, I don't see the problem. Of course midship is usually more expensive than forward. The price would be my deciding factor, not the lifeboat.

My room was close to forward elevator and it was quiet. I am not sure about rooms near the midship elevator. You may want to avoid room right above the movie theatre on Deck 5. There were reports complaining about noise from loud movies like Tron at the time I travelled.

Have fun planning!
