Fantasy ~ September 5, 2015 ~ Western Caribbean

Hi everyone! I am totally new to this! It's my first time cruising!!! Although my hubby is a seasoned traveler. We have 3 kids, an 8 year girl and 4 year old twins; a girl and a boy. Our son is Autistic and it is always great to meet families with special needs kid(s). Are there any recommendations concerning special needs we should know about? TIA:flower:

Can anyone confirm if this is a Halloween cruise? And if it is, what does that mean? What will be happening? What do we need to plan for?

Hi! Disney officially posted Halloween on the High Seas dates for 2015 on the DCL site and we are on the first official one for the Fantasy - September 5th!

This is our 11th cruise but our first with Disney! While I haven't been on one before I highly recommend checking out the trip reports on the disboards or DisneyCruiseLineblog.com. That's where I've gotten a ton of information to plan! I actually downloaded and printed a Halloween cruise itinerary in it's entirety for a 7 day trip from the Fantasy last year from that site. For a planner like me, it helped me get an idea of what I would want to be on the look out for :disrocks:

Few of my favorites that I'm hoping we will see on this one!

  • Nightmare Before Christmas Sing and Scream - we are hoping they do this twice since it happens at 10:30 which is way past our 2 year old's bedtime but i'm dying to meet Jack and Sally! So we will have to go solo and take turns.
  • Halloween Dress up night - we are bringing our costumes to wear for dinner and the evening. We used to attend Mickey's Not So Scary all the time at WDW but our toddler just can't stay up long enough to currently justify it and we miss it terribly! We cannot wait! Most of the times I saw had things starting pretty early in the evening so we should be good!
  • Character Dance party - themed to Halloween
  • Pumpkin tree - I know they will have it this year and do fun things around it, i'm just not sure my 2 year old will like it so we will have to wait and see :goodvibes

Thank you so much for the info. You are so sweet. Any other info you can give us will be amazing. So it looks like we need to dress up one night on top of pirate night.

Aw thanks, I'm just super excited that we are a mere 44 days away!!! :yay:

Truthfully I've been looking for things that toddlers will love (i'm not sure if you are traveling with kids etc) but if you are a Disney fan like us i'm sure you will like some of it too. We are planning on dinner at the restaurants every night unless our son says otherwise. Formal night, pirate night, and Halloween night are the special dress codes I'm going by and then a nice cruise casual for the rest. We are actually expecting our second and i'm going to be around 15 weeks at the time of the cruise, i just have to see what dresses fit ha!

Our must do list so far based on what I've read;
  • Decorate our cabin door
  • Castaway Cay - I'm so excited to see it! it will also be our lil man's first time on a beach.
  • Stage Shows - Believe, Wishes, and Aladdin - we are at the early dinner seating so the shows are fairly late for us, we are only aiming for the main three nights so we can let lil man rest on the other nights in between! I've also heard they possibly do afternoon shows which are far less crowded. We have our fingers crossed and are just planning to ask guest services when we board if there are any planned.
  • Sail Away Party - i know it will be crowded but I don't care :)
  • Meet Ariel as many times as possible - our son loves her
  • Meet Anna and Elsa - we've me them in the park but this way we won't have to use a fastpass+ in November when we go back to WDW. Course I say that and know I probably will end up doing it anyway. 1. I love character meet ups and 2. our lil guy LOVES Anna (seriously he must have a thing for red heads even though mommy is blonde! :lovestruc
  • Book our next cruise on the Magic 2016 - you get 10% off and 200 dollars on board credit for 7 night cruises. Too good of a deal to pass up!
Wish list for the future

REMY and the adult areas of the ship - being pregnant this time, I can't really fully enjoy the cooking at Remy enough to justify the cost but next time it's on our must do for sure as I have heard amazing things!

Can anyone who signed up for the four FEs that I worked on please PM and confirm your information? We are finalizing the lists and want to make sure everyone is still in, and still in the same cabin. There are a few people I have talked to in the last few days, you are good. Thanks!

We are still good to go. Thanks! All info on the sheet is correct.

Totally bummed that I missed the FEs, but I'm not surprised! If enough people are up for it, I wouldn't mind helping to organize a fifth group, though I've never done it before so it can be a learning process lol

We just booked today. Its our second Disney cruise and we're beyond excited. Last time we took a 3 night Bahamas cruise on the Magic, so this is quite the upgrade :)

DisneyDiva, we'll have our 2 year old and I'll be equally as pregnant as you. We also have an 8 year old. Your little one will have a blast!

Yay! A fellow preggo! I'm so glad this cruise hits at 15 weeks. I've never had motion sickness a day in my life but this pregnancy has given me a lovely taste of it. It cleared up at 12 weeks with our first so I'm hoping this will be the same! We are so excited to sail! We will have to meet up at one of the Disney Junior events! I'm sure we will see you there!

Hi - I would be interesting in participating in your FE if you create a 5th list. :) I have a 20 month old going with us as well!

So exciting! ylmattos, I'll keep you posted if it ends up happening. Waiting to see who else is interested. I've been making door decorations the past two days ;) Naturally my 8 year old wasn't thrilled with the pirate costume selections I offered, so I was up sewing that last night, too. I've got to feed my excitement somehow!

Hey,
We were also bummed out when we were informed we missed the FE. We would love to participate. My oldest son will be turning 11yrs old and I should be 18 weeks at the time of the cruise. My 16 month old son and husband will also be traveling with us
This will be our 1st disney cruise and we're excited!!!!

We would love to join a group if you guys are still planning on doing it... We will be traveling with our two little boys who are 4 and 5! Getting so excited!!!

That would be four of us, if I'm not having some big brain issue :) Anyone else? How big are FE groups usually?
