We are currently booked in room 5042 on the Fantasy, and just returned from 5038 on the Dream. We noticed 5038 didn't have an upper bunk bed so I checked because when I booked 5042 I thought it did. I'm now noticing very different reports from my searches. Most sites say it sleeps 4, but the list on this site says 3. We are 3 adult friends looking for 3 separate sleeping spaces. Help, any firsthand reports?!

The easiest way to check is to attempt to book is with 4 people.

If not your cruise, then pick a date far out into the future.

Most sites, including DCL, only list the range for that category -- such as sleeps 3-4 or sleeps 3-5. Many people, maybe some sites, take that assumption as the maximum can be accommodated in all staterooms, but it's not. The thread on this site was compiled by a former poster who did quite a bit of research to make sure it was accurate. That said, it was done in 2013 and the ships have gone through dry dock and some renovations since then. I don't recall any specific mention that additional beds were added to any rooms during those renos, but I suppose it's possible.

And the thread I linked lists both of the mentioned staterooms as sleeping 3, so they would only have 2 beds (queen and sofa). I'd suggest checking that list for rooms in your category that sleep 4, and call DCL to see if any are available for your sailing.

Enjoy your cruise!

I suggest trying "live chat" on the DCL site. Just did it this morning to make certain our family cabins on two future cruises only slept four so we will have the extra chair. Was told which beds were in each cabin. Even asked about the muster station for the cabins and was happy with the answer. I was impressed as the future cruise gal on the Magic a couple weeks ago was useless when I asked. Said she would have to go into each cabin to find out. Would have been tough since we were on the Magic and I was booking the Fantasy.

Side note; I don't know how big your adult friends are... But I could've swore the top bunk has a specific weight limit..

Thanks! It doesn't let me select that room, so there's my answer!

Thanks, I just checked and it is 220 pounds. So I don't fit, but they would. Guess that means no ladder for me :)

Ok I've heard a lot about the Fantasy's aft vibration issue- thoughts on if 7628 would be effected by this? It's in between the midship and aft elevators and seems like it'll have the Murphy bed which is preferable to us if we can't get an extended verandah (all with 3 beds are sold out).

I found a You Tube video of the cabin 7132 which is port side and same cabin type as 7628 which is Starboard. I also saw one for 7648 (again same category as 7628 and 11 doors down) Those cabins have Murphy beds in them. And seem far enough away from aft to really make a difference...in fact it appears center between Mid and Aft elevators which is a good thing.
