We will be on the Fantasy in the Caribbean on July 4, 2020. It is an "at sea" day and late in the cruise, so I don't think it will be pirate-related but it would be cool to incorporate the two. Wondering if they do anything special such as extra fireworks, special outfits for the critters, etc.? Thanks for your help.

We were on the Magic for July 4 back in 2015 and they did have a few things to mark the occasion. In addition to the regular menu in the MDR, they offered an alternative July 4th menu. I don't remember exactly what was on it, but I seem to recall things like ribs and fried chicken, etc. There were a few decorations around, but nothing over the top. There also was some type of July 4th craft for the kids to make.

We were in Europe at the time, so it was pretty subtle but they did make an effort to recognize the day. There were no fireworks, but that was a cruise where they couldn't do any at all due to the waters we were sailing in.

We were on the Fantasy last year on the 4th.
I *think* some of the characters may have been dressed up.
I *think* there may have been extra decorations.

There was definitely a special 4th of July menu, in addition to the regular dinner menu.

There were definitely fireworks, so we had fireworks on pirate night AND 4th of July.

OK let's get in the way back machine, but on the Magic in 2004 we got a nice photo with Mickey and Minnie in colonial dress. They also had a commemorative pin to sell. That's all I remember.

We were on the Dream for Fourth of July in 2017. Pirates night was on the 3rd, so regularly scheduled fireworks happened then. There was big debate on the Facebook group as to whether or not there would be fireworks on the 4th, and many people called DCL or asked once on the ship and were told no fireworks on the 4th. However, on July 4th, there was a special Independence Day fireworks show. They also had the Fab 5 dressed in patriotic attire and a special holiday menu at dinner.

We were on the very same cruise! We were docked in Reykjavik that day! I remember in the morning they had a 4th of July character show in the lobby, gave out US flags and had face painting (we have pictures of my DS walking around Reykjavik with his red, white and blue USA face paint on, LOL!). I remember the CM who painted my DS's face was from the UK and I commented on how ironic it was that he was helping us celebrate! We agreed we were glad we were all friends again, ha! OP, I'm sure they will do something to celebrate on the Fantasy.

We were on the Wonder on the 4th in 2017. It was a sea days for us as well. The characters were dressed up, there was themed ice cream, and the MDR had an extra menu. We had an afternoon deck show as well, but there are no fireworks or evening shows in Alaska, so I don't know if that timing was due to location.

We were on the Fantasy the past two summers over July 4th. 2017 10 night southern, 2018 11 night southern Both years the atrium was decorated, there was crafts and a special menu. 2 nights of fireworks on each cruise, the 4th & pirate. on July 4th, one yr in port, one at sea, following yr it was opposite

2017 we were in St. Kitts, but all aboard was way before the July 4th celebration on the deck at 7:15pm. Show was wonderful, characters in patriotic costumes, similar pic in above reply. Very well done. Amazing. Not sure how long maybe 1/2hr. Following year our family kept talking about how good it was, and looking forward to it again. Pirate night was June 30th, with "normal" Pirate show. Fireworks both nights.

2018 at Sea on July 4th, we were supposed to have some type of character show about 4pm on deck never happened it rained earlier, took them at least 20min to decide if they were going to have whatever that show was, they wound up having a few characters walk around pool area, would not allow characters to stop for pictures, which is not the same as other times when you see characters out, you can usually snag a pic. It was bizarre the way they announced it, not the main person who runs activities, such as cruise director or club host, just one of the younger guys that wear red & blue stripe shirts. Unfortunately the show at night on deck was no where near as good as 2017. Not put together, hardly any characters, not patriotic at all, or lengthy, A real let down from the year before. July 6th was pirate night, this time it was the "new" pirate show, we were in Martinique during the day.

I remember last yr there was some discussion on this, not sure on Dis or our cruise FB group. There was another family who had been on both cruise too, and she was not happy with the change for the July 4th celebration from the prior year. Disappointing! Maybe try you tube to see the diff., but Hope Disney listened and they have a similar show to '17.

Still luv cruising with Disney thou. We will not be on the Fantasy this summer, of course, if I was I would still go see the show to compare again. Trying Wonder in Alaska, not over 4th, no fireworks in Alaska anytime.
