I have heard there are some verandahs on the FAntasy that have slightly obstructed views due to an exterior skin. Does anyone know the numbers of the staterooms this effects on Deck 8?
Thanks!

Not sure about deck 8 but we stayed in room 9012 and the obstructions wasn't bad at all. I would book it again!

I believe you are referring to the category 7A rooms. If so, we have stayed in 8022 which was wonderful. We also have stayed in 9652 and while the actual verandah wall obstruction was not bad, there are 3 "poles" that stick out from behind the verandah, hindering the view more than just the wall of the verandah. That (and the corresponding room on the other side) would not be my first choices. We have 8022 again next year. ;)

If you're referring to the post that runs about every 6th stateroom, check here:

We found out we have one at 9112, so count 6 to the next one. Look at where the lifeboats are and they are up from there. The blockage isn't on the pictures in that thread, as the ship wasn't completed yet, but it's there now and looks like this:

I've been told from someone at DCL that this is actually not just a facade to make the ship look nice, but a structure that connects to the fire doors inside.

Hope that helps.

This is what I was referring to from room 9652. This is if you stand straight at the verandah railing and look to the right(aft).

This is exactly what I was walking about. You didn't find it hindered the view?

I haven't been, yet. I found that picture on another thread, which hadn't given me much information.

It sounded like most people thought it was a non-issue. The stateroom we booked has it and so I had my TA check into it a bit more. She was told by DCL that it was something connected through the ceiling to the firewall in the hallway. Sounds plausible, but it does seem like it waas added to the ship near the end of construction. Anyway, check out that (old) thread. Let me know if you find anything else out about it.

I wanted a non-connecting cabin (I believe they are quieter) and so the verandah has the metal piece (7542)...I know it's there...know I'll have a slightly smaller view...and I'll live with it...plus, as I have read, cabins with the trim can see the water between the lifeboats...

Even on the older ships, the obstruction is far from intrusive -- but lovely to get an open balcony at a lower price! I actually kinda like the shade they provide!

I totally get where you're coming from on that, but just to be fair, the metal structure is on rooms that are connecting, as well. In fact, it's between some connecting rooms, 9112 and 9114 connect and have that structure between the two balconies. While the structure's probably not a big deal if you just have it on a single balcony, it will make a big difference if it's between connecting balconies. That will really affect the view.

Absolutely yes. This is a benefit of most balconies with skinage. They can see between the boats better than others to the sea.
Most others are blocked by the lifeboats.

Great view from below that shows the potential view of many cabins including the skinage balconies.

Between the boats view, on balcony, looking down; At this position you may also view pax on the promenade below if desired.
