Fantasy March 2-9, 2013 Western Caribbean Meet

Thank you for sending your info! I've got you down. Do you have a stateroom number yet?

Oh how I wish I was doing a back to back! Maybe one day :thumbsup2

#9664!!!
We did a B2B on the MV of the Dream. All I have to say is it is the best feeling in the world to feel like your cruise has come to an end and realize you get to start over AGAIN!!!:dance3::dance3::dance3: You still go through the feeling of "oh no, the cruise is over" and then you turn right back around and feel the excitement all again. We stay in the same SR for both. Last time, we were only off the ship about 20 minutes. They just asked that we stay out of the corridors as much as possible. We are addicted to the coolness of it!:thumbsup2

If DH didn't need to be back to work after the cruise, I'd seriously consider doing it. I'm trying to talk him into doing the Hawaiian cruise in October, they have some AWESOME GTY rates!!

We just booked that cruise today :cool1: My kids only speak french and would like to know if any other people speaking french we'll be on the ship? My daughters are 11 and 9.

Can't wait for March!

Welcome everyone! Sorry, been stuck on the Facebook page and haven't looked here in a while. :) Glad to hear we have a large group coming! Wishing I was doing a B2B...but lucky to just get this one. :)

Hello, I just recently joined the DIS boards and sort of stumbled onto this thread after several days of catching up. :)
This will be our second DCL cruise. We were on the Magic in February and loved it so much we booked this one. Sailing will be:
Me - Anne 36
DH - Kevin 36
DS - Marcus 17
DS - Zachary 10
DD - Mira 5
Look forward to chatting with you all on Facebook!

Welcome to the cruise group!!! :dance3: This would have been our 2nd cruise but thanks to a deal we couldn't pass up, it'll now be our 3rd. :cool1: We're cruising on the Magic in September. I'd love to hear about your experience! It'll be our first time on the Magic.

Are you interested in doing the FE exchange?

Sorry for what is likely a stupid question, but FE is the fish extenders, right? I'm still trying to get all the abbreviations right. ;)
I was curious about them last trip, but didn't bother because everything about cruising in general was new to us and I was getting overwhelmed! I'd love to do it this trip. Everyone will have to explain the rules to me. Complete newbie here! :)

We loved the Magic. My DD still asks why we had to get off the ship. She thought it was our new home and had no desire to leave!

Hi, my kids are also French speaking - they speak English as well, so they can help with any translations :) My daughter will be 9 when we cruise and my son will be 11. I suspect that they'll love to find other kids who speak French. They speak Dutch too, if anyone needs that . Still hoping my husband isn't going to boycott the trip, since he's changing jobs this fall :scared1:

we are also on this cruise Joanne 46 and Josh 17. we are traveling with scrapycruiser. we are so excited!!!!!:cheer2:

Yes, the FE stands for Fish Extender. It's really a lot of fun :thumbsup2 You can do a stateroom gifts, individual gifts...it's really up to you but I know I LOVED every gift I received in the FE exchange on our cruise. It was fun having gifts delivered every time we returned to our stateroom.

Any questions you may have, I'll be happy to try and answer them as well as many of the others on the board. I'll add you to the list :cool1: Do you have a stateroom number assigned? Also, any special notes (celebrating a birthday/anniversary, food allergies, etc.)?

GREAT!!!!:dance3: Welcome aboard! I can already tell this cruise is going to be LOTS of fun :cool1:

Would you like to participate in the FE exchange?

Stateroom number is 2021. Being from Michigan, the cruise is simply our escape from winter. That backfired on me last year when we had the mildest winter on record. ;) No allergies in our group.

For the FE, how do you go about making/ buying one?
Thanks!

I actually made mine using the No Sew instructions found here: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=30302583&postcount=609

And this is what I came up with:

I got the fabric/ribbons and the other materials from the fabric store. For the family name and mickey heads, I simply made them in Microsoft Word and printed them (along with our names) onto transfer paper and ironed them on. I then put the bells on it once we hung it outside our door to discourage anyone from stealing it. We used wire to wrap the bells around the extender so if anyone had tried to take it, it'd have been really tough and really loud. :lmao:

Thanks! I'm not very crafty so the no sew option is great. Good thing I've got several months to work on this. :)

There's also a lady on Ebay I think that makes them to order. That's how I got ours. Unfortunately I don't remember her screen name but I'm sure you could do a search and find it.

Gradysmommy

I am thinking about going that route.
I could make one, and DD wants me to, but I really like the way hers look. And having someone else do it is soooooo much easier. Then I can concentrate on the gifts to go inside.

I have to recommend Stitches N Bows on Etsy, for all of your personalized DCL needs! She's on the DIS, I ordered our FE from her and it's gorgeous.

Hi! This is my very first post, so please forgive me if I do something wrong and the formatting or anything else is all funny. I've been a lurker for many years, but just joined the DIS so I could participate in this meet. My family and I will be on this cruise, and will be part of a large group that is sailing to celebrate a surprise birthday. The birthday guest doesn't have any idea that we are going on this cruise, so I'm trying to keep this a secret both on here and on FB. I'll probably post more on the FB group since it's easier to keep the secret there.

My immediate traveling party includes:

Me (Jenny)- 38 at time of sailing, 9th Disney cruise, 1st time on Fantasy
DH (Dan)- 32 at time of sailing, 4th Disney cruise, 1st time on Fantasy
DS (Jackson)- 7 1/2 months at time of sailing
DS (Austin)- 7 1/2 months at time of sailing

We're debating on whether or not to join the FE group, too. It sounds like lots of fun, but the logistics of packing for 2 infants has us a little scared, and packing the FE, gifts, and bringing gifts home may be a bit much. We'll keep talking about it, and will let you guys know before the November deadline (I think that's what I saw) if we want to participate.

Has anyone bought their air yet?? the highest I have ever seen it!!
Not sure how long to wait though.

We made group airfare reservations (there will be 21 people traveling in my group) as soon as the schedules opened and I agree, they are very expensive. Just in 2010, my family of 4 flew to Orlando for under $600. Last year, it was about $700 and now it's $1280 :furious:

While I have found found less expensive airfare, the flight times are horrible and IMHO not worth the money saved. Plus, we'd have to switch airlines to save and we typically fly with US Airways for the miles.

Airfare is the reason why we're holding off on our Cars Land visit. :confused3
