Fantasy June 29, 2013 Meet Up!

We were quoted $99 (no AAA discount on the day room). We decided to go ahead and book one also since our flight got changed and we won't be heading back to So. Cal until 5:30.

Hum, maybe a post-cruise meet at the pool is in order too :thumbsup2 :cool1:

That was the rate we got too - the room is available from 10-6. Are you flying back to LAX on Virgin?

The girls and I are in for both a meet up 3pm at the Tube and a post-cruise meet-up at the Hyatt. :D

Craig, meeting up at one of the pools at OKW the Friday before sounds fun as well! That's the one DVC property we've not visited yet.

We are taking Virgin from LAX to MCO (and now I'm starting to panic about that, LOL). It is getting close enough that I'm starting worry about the flight being cancelled and Virgin not having another one to put us on, etc. :scared:
Why do I do this to myself :rotfl:

We are flying AA from MCO to LAX. We booked it originally because it was non-stop and left at 1:05 pm (perfect timing so we didn't have to rush, yet didn't have to wait too long for the flight).
But then they changed that flight to 9:00 am :( so we had to choose another flight. The 5:35 pm flight was the only other non-stop and I don't want to deal with 3 kids, luggage and short layovers on the way home ;)
Now I'm wishing I would have just booked Virgin on the way home.

Anyone planning to book one of the wine tastings? DH doesn't drink and my DDs are underage, but I'd love to have company.

I was thinking about doing one of the tastings this time. I have never done one before. I was reading someones trip report about the tequila/margarita tasting and think I might try that. I read there is also a chocolate tasting now too :cool1:

I'm not much of a wine drinker, but this might be a good time to start :dance3: :drinking1 :faint:

I heard it is best to book at guest services right when you board the ship because they fill up quickly

DVC points?

We paid cash for this cruise, but we used points for our Alaska cruise in August 2011. We booked with member services right after we got off a 3day cruise and received a 10% discount on the number of points. Two adults in a veranda was 517 points. It was worth it, since we had planned to skip wdw for a couple of years.

Ohhh, how did you like Alaska? We have it booked for 2014 and I'm getting really excited about that one. If all works out well, we will be flying into Vancouver, cruising for 7 days, taking the Quick Shuttle back to Seattle for 2 nights and then taking the Amtrak Coast Starlight home.

I just have to figure out how I'm going to pay for it and then make sure I can be gone from work for 2 weeks (small details) :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

What excursions did you do?

We LOVED it! We had terrible weather on the port days, but it is so beautiful that we didn't care. I'd recommend bringing some good rain gear though.

I can't remember the exact names of the excursion, but we did the White Mountain railway up/bike down excursion in Skagway, one of the dog sled camp excursions in Juneau, and canoeing in Ketchikan. We had so much rain during the canoeing that it looked like we fell in the lake.

We're on Virgin America back to SFO.
I want to do a mixology class but I'm such a lightweight one drink would put me under. I was hoping I could share with hubby but I haven't heard of anyone doing that.
We were thinking of bringing our own snorkeling gear but I heard snorkel vests are required, does anyone know if we could use a ski vest or something similar instead?

If you are talking about snorkeling at CC, I believe the bests are available free of charge.

If I am remembering correctly, the vests are more for visual reference for the lifeguards (so they can see you). They are like a bib that you inflate manually by blowing into them. So if you don't want to inflate them, you don't have to. DS had on one of the life vests that they provide to keep him floating and the snorkling vest over the top of it.

I didn't mind wearing it inflated because the swim was quite a ways out to find the hidden treasures and while the vest doesn't necessarily make you float, it does make it easier to float while checking out the underwater items.

We definitely want to do the train in Skagway, but we will probably end up doing to both up and back. We will be traveling with my Mom and I don't think she will be up for the other options that I've seen.

For Ketchikan, I really want to do the Bear Watching excursion. The kids and I might do that one and then meet up with my Mom afterwards to check out the town (she doesn't want to see bears, LOL).
