I'm in!!
This past cruise was amazing! I'm hoping they just keep getting better.
Rani, I'll help you with anything you need. Just let me know!

Happy July 4th!

Whoo Hoo! Welcome to all the new folks! It's gonna be an awesome cruise!

Seems like there should be more people on this cruise meet and FB page. I added my fam who is coming.

Hmmm - I feel like we should have more people in this group as the ship is fairly booked already......hmmmm:confused3

Well folks, it has been busy as I predicted. DW and I had a most amazing time aboard the RCCL Freedom last week for our Western itinerary and 25th anniversary. It was the best vacation experience ever. I had a chance to watch DD17 perform at DCA on the fourth of July but most of the time I was working our local fireworks booth selling fireworks as a fundraiser for the school. DW and DD17 are in Las Vegas this weekend for a dance convention. Things are not slowing down at all.

In other news it is looking very likely that we will have to move this cruise date out to 2014 once those dates are released. We will know for sure later this month but as a hint, it involves my DD23 and her BF.

In the mean time, we are going to try and survive the summer schedule.

Just got home tonight from the 4th of July Fantasy cruise :cool2:...had an amazing week. What a beautiful ship! We booked while onboard for this the same cruise for next year, so will be joining you all. See you on the Facebook board and we will do the FE.

for our cruise this week...
Weather was beautiful, smooth sailing. Fireworks were pirate night. July 4th was 4pm deck party, no fireworks. That was the one night coming off of St Thomas and the skies opened up right before the show, so no deck party. They did face painting, Popsicles, and other festive things throughout the day.

And plenty of Mickey bars, just in case anyone was worried. Soft serve is plentiful, but my son was ready for it before it opened daily at 11am...LOL.
You can bring on alcohol
We ordered wine package and will do again...great!
Aquaduck was great, hopefully my DD will grow 2more inches by next year to ride without an adult. Must be 42 to ride with adult and I think 52 to go alone. They were strict on the height.
Adult areas in front of the ship were adult only and crazy windy up front when ship is moving.
BBB was so fun for the kids :)

Cool! We were on the ship right before you got on.... In fact, we watched you all sail away that night from Cocoa Beach!

I think we will all have a really fun time next year!

Is there a teen FB group for this cruise? My family was on the Fantasty June 23rd, and heard there was a FB group for the teens a year in advance. My stepson is very interested in this.

I am very, very shy, and use the Disboards for information. My stepsons would like to get to know other teens in advance.

Ohhhh - we sailed together!! Did you come to the meet? Getting involved with the group really adds to the trip. So far, our group is just starting, but I'm sure there will be a bunch of teens as time goes on. Make sure to join the FB group also - that way he will see the picks of the kids, too.

Welcome!

Is the Facebook group private?

Absolutely. When you request to get in, the mod will ask for your DIS name to make sure you belong there as well.

Greetings!
We just returned this week from Alaska on the Disney Wonder. Booked the Fantasy trip while we were onboard. I was surprised to see there are already 9 pages for this cruise group!
We were on the ship for the 4th of July. No fireworks due to Alaskan regulations, but they still had pirate night that evening (no late-night buffet either; probably too chilly up on that top deck!). There was a lovely & moving patriotic presentation in the lobby, with theatre cast members singing all the traditional songs with a sing-along, and of course the characters in patriotic attire. There was also recognition of all present who have served in the armed forces, as well as a moment of silence for those who have/are serving/sacrificing for our country.

There were several Mickey bars consumed by my family for dessert. :mickeybar

For our information:
Dis Name: ByTheBook
# of Adults & names: Myself (Kathy) and DH
# Kids & names/ages: DD 16 paw: and DS 12 :goofy: at cruise time
Stateroom #: Deck 10
What DCL cruise # will this be for you? 4th
Do you want to participate in the FE? Yes, definitely! We were too late to join the FE group for this last cruise, but we made an FE anyway and exchanged gifts amongst our family.

I will check out the Facebook page soon!

Welcome! This is going to be a really fun cruise. To sign up for the FE, go to post number 2 in this thread and there is a form - and then you're all in! :thumbsup2

Welcome!

I didn't go to the meet. I get really nervous in social situations, so I tend to keep to myself. My stepsons are far more likely to meet up than my husband and I.

We are back from our 3 week tour of California so now we can start planning next year's cruises! Yay!

Is the first post being updated with new folks? And is there a place to see the list of those signed up for FE?

Also if anyone has a kid around 10-11 (as of now) my daughter is kind of shy and would love to start meeting other kids pre-cruise so she knows someone once on board.

Jim

I have to be honest, I am probably missing a could folks from the first page. I'll sit down soon and go through the thread to make sure I've got everyone. Sorry, busy summer!

Oh, and my DS is 9 now, he's a bit shy too, but once they get into those kid areas somehow the shyness wears off and everyone is a friend!
