Fantasy June 29, 2013 Meet Up!

Our DD will be 11 on the cruise, and has always loved the clubs! She usually does a lot of the crafts and activities, and makes friends to do things with. Being an only, we worried on our first cruise, but she's always loved it!

She's looking forward to bring in the Edge this time around. I'm not too sure about it, but we'll see how it goes!

Does your daughter have face time? We could try to have them meet ahead of time. Maybe mine would be more open to the clubs. I have an 18 year old that does not live with us so my dd is like an only child. Let me know if they could somehow hook up before the cruise

Regarding the clubs - I think it's always an individual experience each cruise. On our first cruise, my youngest hated the clubs. Each cruise we went on made it a little better. Last summer, tons of time was spent there whether a friend was there or not.

With my older kids, they used to love the clubs. However, they were turned off by all the structure in the Vibe and therefore did a lot of group wandering. You just have to see how it goes.

What amused me a bit is that on our past two cruises, we've been with people whose kids are used to daycare situations. None of those kids liked the clubs.

My kids are getting so excited. We're heading to WDW in a few weeks but they really are more excited about the cruise!

We just go back from WDW. My DD does competitive cheerleading. She had a competition and competed at ESPN Wide world of Sports. It was exciting.
We were there for 6 days and I was sick in the hotel for 2 of those days.
It wasn't the best trip, but it was enjoyable.
I am trying to get some ideas for excursions. I am able to book at the end of
March.
Any suggestions on what others are doing?

WOO HOO

We are checked in!!! Well, one of our rooms is. The other is Silver so I can't check it in for another 15 days.

We booked Palo Brunch for the second sea day. I also booked Pirates League for DS since it is his birthday that day.

Of course all the Family Cabanas were gone :sad1: I figured as much but it still bums me out a bit. There were two on the adult beach and I almost booked one but decided it wasn't nice to ditch the kids. So we all decided we would just get up and out early to find a spot we like for the day. I offered to book parasailing but no one was interested. DH is looking forward to snorkling and I am looking forward to exploring more. The last time we were there, the first CC day was windy and not so fun and the second time we had a cabana so I stayed close to that. So I never really was able to just walk around and explore.

Anyone else check-in and book excursions yet?

All checked in! 11am PAT, Palo Brunch on the 2nd sea day - nothing else planned or scheduled! We do have a Bernard tour booked for St. Maarten, but I think on St. Thomas we're just going to shop Havensight a bit and look at all the pretty yachts at the Yacht Club. :rotfl:

Sooo excited! :banana::cool1:

:cool1: :cool1: It sounds like we will be running into you all over the place ;) I have 12:00 booked for Palo on the second sea day. What time is your Bernard's tour? We booked ours for 9:30.

We had planned to do the Kon Tiki excursion in St. Thomas but it didn't show up on the list :confused3 My DD's bff doesn't really care for snorkeling so a lot of the other excursions are out (this is her first cruise so we are trying to do things that she will enjoy more). I booked the early morning Coral World excursion so that we will have the remainder of the time there to explore also.

Hello fellow cruisers, my DD who is 12 and currently in the 6th grade. She would like to start a Email pal (pen pal) before our cruise. My son who is 14 will be in the Vibe with his cousin and her friend. He might need a fellow guy friend as well. If anyone would be interested you can PM and I can give my email.
Thanks and we see everyone in 104 days.
Jeff

Well we are paid in full!!!

We are heading to WDW next week so we wanted to be sure it was paid up beforehand so we can book anything we need to on 3/31. Let's hope the AKV wifi is working.

We will be at SSR. I hope their internet is working too!! :).

Sorry, for this. Since I have only 5 post so far, I guess you need 10 to PM someone. Someone did respond to my earlier post and I cannot respond back until I hit 10.

Would anyone from our group like to join me and my son in doing the 5k? I am starting to walk/run to get in shape for it. We can motivate each other to reach the goal. I know there are apps out to help with the journey.
Just about 100 days, almost down to double digits.

Just do 4 more quick posts of one word each and you will be good to go ;)

I hope your DD can get some penpals. My DD is reallly shy so she rarely goes to the kids clubs either. But she is older (will be 15 on the cruise) so she will be going to the teen club this time. We are also bringing her BFF on the cruise so she has someone to hang around with.

My DS is the complete opposite. He tries to make friends with everyone and has no problem running off to the kids clubs alone. But he also is really looking forward to this cruise since we have cruised with EcbLovesMickey and family before so he already knows their DS's :thumbsup2
