Fantasy January 23, 2016- STAR WARS

I've seen a few people talking about excursions. Where do I find which excursions are available???

I don't believe we can see what's available to us until our booking window opens. So, the concierge and most frequent cruisers will have first dibs and then it trickles down to everyone else, based on your booking date.

However, if you want to see all of what Disney offers, log in to your cruise account, then click on Cruises & Destinations, then Port Adventures. By doing this when logged in, you can see what's available and save ones you are interested in to your account. When you booking window opens, you'll be able to look at your saved options and, if they're available, add them then.

Just tried to open the PDF for FE 1 tonight, and it said page not found...
Oh, I forgot to add us to the roll call:
Jenjenthern: Jen, Alan, Natalie (12), Nathan (6) From Port Orange, FL
Unfortunately this seems to be happening a lot recently. I've reposted the lists a few times now and that doesn't seem to be helping. If you send me a PM with your email I can email you the lists.

Hi! Were we added or are we on the group that is still filling up?
I just saw your PM an have added you to the list. You are in the third group "The Empire" which isn't full yet. I think you are cabins 7&8 out of 15. Once it's full I'll get the list out there somehow. Hopefully by then the issue with posting file will be fixed.

For excursions, I have just been searching the site "Cozumel excursions" to get a generic list. I *think* after you make your final payment, that the actual list will show up under My Cruise activities.

I saw on facebook last night that Disney released a catalog of the exclusive star wars merchandise to pre order. We have until Dec. 23 to get the orders in for our sailing. DH and I already started to debate what we want to put in for. So many pins, so little money lol.

Yeah I'm not thrilled about the random selection but I guess it's better then wasting cruise time standing in line or scrambling to get what you want.

True enough. There's going to be so much to do. I'd rather not waste time waiting on line for pin.

This didn't work for me, alas - it doesn't seem to populate until our booking window opens!

Just wanted to say hi. DH and I are on this sailing. We are in our mid 30s from the Philly area with no kids.

So crazy that final payment is almost here. I have to get to Target to buy up some giftcards.

I haven't read the whole thread yet but are people concerned about the port time in Grand Cayman? We don't usually book excursions through the cruise line but I think we will try to this time.

Welcome! Thanks for joining! We, too, have no kids but I'm in my upper 30s (alas).

That's the same amount of time we had in GC when I went with RCI. It's plenty of time for me!

I want a longer day in Cozumel, since so many excursions are on the mainland and require about 3 hours round trip travel time. :)

If you don't mind me asking, but are the gift cards for anything in particular, or just to have?

I think - and she can correct me if I'm wrong! - that if you have a Target credit card, you get discounts on things and Disney Gift Cards are usually considered "entertainment" cards and, therefore, qualify.

Like, last Black Friday, for example, Target offered their own gift cards (Target gift cards) at a 10% discount. So I bought $100 and paid $90 and turned around and bought $100 of Disney gift cards with them. Hey, $10 is $10.

(And this year, Meijer offered $5 off $50 Disney Gift Cards, so, yeah, got one of those, too)

If you have a Target Visa or debit card you get 5% off all purchases which includes Disney gift cards. The gift cards are considered "entertainment" cards. I will then load the Disney gift cards into my Disney Vacation Account to get the bonus gift cards. The two things combined should save me over $200. Every little bit helps.

Forgive me, but I'm trying to understand. You use your red card (or whatever it's called), to buy Disney Gift Cards. This then gives you 5% back. Then you put them toward the account on the ship. If you load $$ into those onboard accounts (even with gift cards), you get more gift cards?

I buy Disney gift cards at Target with my Target Visa for 5% off. I then load those discounted gift cards into my Disney Vacation Account. Disney Vacation Account gives you a $20 gift card for every $1K spent after your account has been open for 120 days. I use my Disney Vacation Account to pay off the balance of my cruise.

Not quite. You get a discount on purchases, so you purchase Disney gift cards at a discount, paying (in my case) $45 for a $50 gift card. You can then go to Guest Services, on the ship, and apply the gift cards to your onboard account. I will then have a $50 credit on my account, that I only paid $45 for.

Check out that Star Wars merch catalog. Awesome goodies to buy!
