Fantasy GTY Question

Hi! So we're considering booking a last minute november cruise on the Fantasy. We would book GTY 9C ( Deluxe Ocean View). From what it seems, the 9Cs on the Fantasy are on 7 and 8, right at the front of the ship with slanted portholes. Which we would be ok with. But I'm guessing we could also end up down on Deck 2 in a 9B? Would that be considered "or higher category"? Just trying to get the best idea of what we would be getting into :-) We're Gold on DCL and usually book ahead to pick our room, but this would be a last minute " we feel like getting away" trip.

I don't know for sure, but I would expect that a Category 9B would indeed be considered a "higher category" than a Category 9C so it would be possible that you'd be assigned to one when booking Category 9C GTY. Most GTY room locations match what's booked, but the purpose of GTY for Disney Cruise is to allow them flexibility to fill available rooms.

Of course, if you're not thrilled with the room location you get, you can avoid spending much time in the room and hang out on upper decks.

Yes. They could upgrade you to a 9B. We did OGT last year and received one of the slanted porthole cabins on deck 7. It was fine. Didn’t notice any more ship movement up there.

But, when we have done GTY with a certain cabin category, that is the category we have received.

Find the “worst” cabin they could assign you. If you would be okay with that, all’s great.

I believe you can also end up with Cat 8, 7, 6… also. Anything Cat 9C or higher.
