If you were choosing Deck 7 (4c) or Deck 8 (4b), which would you pick...and why? Is there any appreciable difference between the two? Price is really not a factor, as there is only a very small difference. And the cabins are essentially midship, so that's not a factor either. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Just booked deck 7, but, to be honest other then being an outside port hole view, don't know much about it.

The rooms and verandahs will be exactly the same size across categories 4A-4D. We've stayed on both deck 7 and deck 8, and we didn't find there to be much difference. In general, I don't think it's worth any additional money to be on a deck higher than 7, but for one of our cruises we couldn't get the location we wanted on that deck (and thus went up to deck 8). We like being able to get everywhere using the stairs, and deck 7 is great for that.

We've stayed on both and our next cruise is on deck 7. Love them both equally. We feel deck 7 or 8 midship is the perfect location.

If cost is not a factor, choose the side of the ship you'd prefer and the cabin configuration sought (not all 4c or 4b have the Murphy bed if a preference for one in your group). We've done both deck 7 and 8 and there is no difference between (other than 1 more flight up/down if doing the stairs) outside of cost or availability of the cabin of choice.

We have stayed on Deck 7 on the Dream and Deck 8 on the Fantasy. No difference at all between the decks. Go with location rather than deck. We like to be halfway between the Mid and Aft elevators and on the Starboard side so that was more of a factor for us. I also tend to look for non-connecting staterooms but really, there was no difference between those two either (we never heard our neighbors in either case).

Right now, we have 7638 and 7640 (connecting cabins since Grandma and DS are sharing). If we moved up to Deck 8, we'd have to move to Port side, and the cabins would be closer to the midship elevators. Grandma was suggesting this because she thought being midship would be "closer" to everything. However, I think I prefer our current location...Starboard side, and closer to the Aft (not so crowded) elevators. I think we are "midship" enough...and should stay put :-)

Thanks for the advice!

We were in 7632 on the Dream and loved the location :thumbsup2 We used the Aft elevators a lot to avoid the congestion of the mid-ship elevators.
