Hi guys!
So great to hear so much from all of you. Before I get into any info about us, I just wanted to address Sue's previous question about the cruise activities.
When you go to the
Disney Cruise website, log in, and then go to the Planning Center tab and select My Activities. Your cruise itinerary will be pulled up and it will show you where you will be each day, when you can leave the boat and need to be back on board, and if there are any fun activities already planned (Pirate Party). At the bottom there, on any day you wish, you select "Add Activities" and select away!
You can add Dining activities (these are upgrades for adults only I think), so if you want to treat yourself and your hubby to a special romantic dinner at Palo, you add yourselves to a reservation, pick a time, and proceed with your date!
You can add Port Adventures which are activities on the island you are docked at for the day. These are things like renting bikes on
Castaway Cay (the disney island), doing a snorkel adventure on an island we visit, doing a "beach bash" etc. These are nice because Disney pre-screens the companies that solicit these activities so you know fairly well that the activity is safe, you won't get kidnapped or mugged, and you will make it back to the ship in one piece.
You can book Spa & Fitness. Need I say more?
You can book "On Board Fun" which is stuff like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (a must...an expensive must for all young girls who are a princess inside), or a sports simulator thing (never tried this).
Lastly, you can book Nursery. Never have used this service bc I have never traveled with an infant/toddler, but I've walked by and they always look like cheery young women taking good care of the kiddos.

The good thing about Disney cruises is that so much of the entertainment and fun is free. All of the movies, theater performances, parties, princess meet & greets, etc. is FREE. Still some of these things are worth investing in.
Just as an idea, my boyfriend and I always do one night and one brunch at Palo (the upscale italian restaurant). It is a $25 charge per person and the food is divine. The steak is amazing and the chocolate soufflé is to die for. It's also just nice to get one private romantic little evening away from all the other families in the main restaurants (or ppl in your party!).
I also like to weight the options with the port adventures. If it seems like a really safe island, me roaming around on my own is no big deal. If I'm not familiar with it, then I'd rather book a Port Adventure or stay on the ship (which is actually a lot of fun on Port days!).
As for spa and fitness....the spa treatments are VERY good. they are $$$ and I've had some women hassle me to buy product after the service which I found disruptive to the extreme. Still, it's a fun treat. Some things though, I'd avoid it at all costs. I got my nails done once (acrylics) and it cost twice what it costs to get them done at a great place at home.
For all the other stuff, I'm not really the right person to ask, though I can vouch 100% for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique like I said. I watched my niece (4 years old) do it and it was like a freaking dream!!!
Anyway, if you guys have ANY questions to ask, please just let me know. I'd be more than happy to ask. This will be my fourth Disney Cruise and although I don't claim to be a veteran, I know my way around these parts (including the Disney Fantasy in particular).
