At MCO. Buses not leaving for port until 10:30. This seems unusually late. In past they’ve started moving at 9:30. I wonder if this is standard now or an anomaly. Be interested to see when ship boarding starts.
Ok. We are on bus 4, which they said would leave at 10:45. They just loaded bus 1, which is still sitting there. Now they are loading bus 2. That means in one hour they will only load four buses? 200 people? Not sure why it’s so slow and deliberate.
They’ve loaded two buses but both are still sitting there. First bus has been loaded for 30 minutes. My guess is they don’t want people at the port yet. Deep cleaning?
Maybe due to the statements they have send out yesterday and today regarding the coronavirus & cruising, they could have started additional screenings and cannot have too many guests at the terminal at once?
On our sailing in October the first bus started to load at 9:40 and didn’t leave till after ten. Second bus, the one we were on, started loading at 10 and left at 10:20 if I remember correctly. Seems the busses are leaving a little later than they used to.
We just got off and didn't notice anything amiss. At the airport now.
Though the little girl in front of us on the bus was puking and clearly feverish (the mother obviously expected that because she was ready with bags and wipes.) I said something to the driver but I'd be very careful to wash hands after getting off any bus, people are idiots and don't care about anyone but themselves. This bus arrived around 10am
When we stood up to get off she looked right at my son and open mouth coughed. I hope we don't get sick.
We went on the Fantasy in January. Our bus wasn't scheduled until 11am. We actually left at 11:30. I like the later time, security is a breeze, terminal not crowded, checkin a breeze and we walked right on.
did you make it to the port. I’m sure a brief message from a CM would’ve helped. They are actually make the situation worse by not giving you some info. Good luck, safe cruise. We cruise in 6 weeks and a lot can change by then.
We left on the Fantasy 3 weeks ago. Although we were at MCO before 9, the lines were crazy long and extremely slow. We were also on the 4th bus, and didn't wind up getting to the terminal until noon, so we missed out on our platinum boarding group 1. We went through 3 or f4 separate checks before being allowed on the bus. We were one of the first cruises that they started checking passports for recent travel. My DH though they were purposely trying to spread out people at the terminal.
It was the first time that we spent the night by MCO instead of at the port. I would much rather wait at the port than at MCO. Lesson learned. We still like taking the DCL transportation back to the airport though.
Most likely the shio hadn't cleared customs yet. All cruise ships need to be cleared for boarding by Customs Control before anyone can board for the next cruise. There are myriad reasons why boarding can be delayed. Better you wait at MCO then have them drop off bus loads at the terminal.
