**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

FE REQUEST!

Hope everyone is getting those FE gifts done. I've had several requests to get the gender for the kids. Some of the names are unfamiliar and we're not sure if the child is a princess or a pirate.

PLEASE - if your child's name(s) don't have a gender associated with them on the spreadsheet, send me a PM so I can get the spreadsheet updated!

Also, the way the spreadsheet is laid out, there are some rows with two staterooms. That is a SINGLE FE, but all the people in the staterooms are part of that FE. There are some people that show up on multiple rows (bookite, [bookite]). EACH of those rows is a separate FE. The rule is: a row equals an FE. Again, if that needs correction, please send me a PM and I'll get it fixed ASAP.

Coming down to the wire! Guess I better get going on the gifts.:rotfl:

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry I haven't gotten to know anyone very well yet. Shortly after this group was formed we happily found out we were expecting another baby AND bought a new house, remodeled and sold our old house and moved. So, the cruise planning was put a bit on the back burner. lol.

Our second daughter Alexandra was born in December and will be 5 months old when we depart on this trip...a little nervous about that, but hey, it's Disney.

Anyways, I'm hoping to play a little catch-up and get to know you all before departure. :)

Cheers!

Wow sounds like a nice weekend minus the house work! Enjoy the movie and the hockey game jealous on the game I miss Hockey games.

It was a BLAST! One of the players (a really cute one at that--shhhh! Don't tell DH!) came over and flipped a puck to Joey and he just thought it was so cool. There was some colorful language in the penalty box, but luckily DS was clueless to what any of it meant (which kind of made me proud!) so he didn't realize what was happening until I opened my mouth to him to say I NEVER wanted to hear anything like that come from him! We got to sit next to his old preschool teachers hubby in the press box (he's the sportscaster for a local station) and he got to see his first hockey OT and shootout. We ended up losing in the shootout, but it was still so fun!

Hi everyone:wave:

I've been reading a lot of the "tips/secrets/advice" type threads lately & I keep seeing "order breakfast from room service" come up as a suggestion. Well I wanted to share my personal alternative to this "tip" with you guys. Maybe it will work for one of you as well.

The problem I have with the breakfast menu through room service is that its basically pastries & cold cereal - in other words, very limited. (Unless of course you are concierge-level, then good for you - enjoy your full service breakfast menu. You can stop reading now if you like. ;)) So, how to compromise between the convenience of room service & the selection of the buffet?

Simple - I am typically awake before my wife, especially on vacation. Once I am dressed & she starts getting ready I head up to the buffet. I load a tray full of our favorite breakfast items - including the HOT ones:thumbsup2 - and I walk right back down to our stateroom. We have breakfast in our stateroom, set the tray & dishes in the hallway just like room service dishes, then we are out the door to our activities. This was a particularly good strategy for us on Port days.

Anyway - nothing earth shattering - and I fully recognize that there are cons to my method. It just worked well for us, and thought it might work well for some of you guys too.

We will likely go to the restaurants some mornings too, but usually on sea days when we are not rushing to get off the ship & start exploring a port. (Or rushing to pelican plunge before it gets busy:laughing:)

My DH surprised us by doing this on the last cruise as he's an early to bed/early to rise sort of guy. I, on the other hand, am the stay up/sleep in type on vacation, so it worked out really well in the mornings the boys and I wanted to be lazy! Wondering if we can just make it a routine for this round???

Congrats on all the major changes! Our DD was 4 months on her first cruise, so feel free to ask any of us on here for baby travel tips. She is now 21 months and this will be her 4th cruise! She'll be reaching some top tier statuses on various cruise lines before she even knows it!

Ghah!! FE gifts!!

I just wear a suit on both nights & I only pack one - just different shirt & tie for each night. My wife wears a dress, but nothing too formal.

You really will see a full range of attire, but they can't be too strict - Donald Duck doesn't even wear pants ;)

OMG! I actually laughed out loud at this! Great point!!! Still giggling! :rotfl2:

Thanks! Our eldest (Elle) was 17 months when we took our last cruise, but it was only 4 nights and we didn't put her in the nursery. She'll be 4 this time. In fact, the cruise is sort of a birthday celebration, as well as our vacation. :) She'll be off to enjoy the clubs. Little sister (Alex) had been booked for a few hours in the nursery when we go to Palo and Remy, but I'm not sure how or when else we might want to do that. --How'd the evacuation drill go when your DD was 4 months? I remember the struggle we had getting that life jacket thing on a 17 month old...not looking forward to trying it on a 5 month old. lol.

Thanks! I see you are in Manchester. My DH was born in Bebington, so not too far from you. :)

Everytime I get onto the Disney page to check my reservation and see if a Remy has opened up yet.....I get giddy! 53 days until our sail away!!!!

I *think* they changed the rules so you don't have to wear the lifejackets to the muster drill? I can't imagine getting those things on an infant, haha :) I, on the other hand, liked them a LOT when I discovered the leashes on the back and considered leaving them on my boys (who were 4 and 6 at the time) like those little kiddie harnesses since I've never had those... :)

It really is a small world. My Auntie, Uncle and cousins lived in Upton, then moved to Prenton, close to Tranmere Rovers ground!! Practically neighbours.:)

Hi Everyone!

Sounds like everyone is getting more and more excited as we get closer to sail date! :goodvibes I have been so busy that haven't had much time to think about it. I was lucky enough to see Tink113 and Tink113sMom and Alison (don't remember her DIS name) on my visit to DC. :cloud9: That made it even more exciting to be going on the cruise and spending more time with them and all of you! :grouphug:

DC was beautiful! Was able to see the Cherry Blossoms which were amazing. Now getting back into the swing of normal "Mommy/Wife" life and preparing for my SIL's visit next week. They will be here for a month and am very excited for them to be here but a bit nervous about having a toddler around for that long. The house isn't really baby-proofed anymore and not sure how much to do besides block the stairs and cover the outlets. I am sure we will figure it out.

Ok - back to work! Have a good day everyone!!!

P.S. - Kai is a boy :)

***Remy dinner available.*** We just cancelled our sea day reservation for day six (May 24) for two. We were able to get one on day five for our whole party of six adults, so gave up the sea day for that. JUMP ON IT!!!
