:cool2: :yay: :cheer2: :yay: :cheer2: :yay: :cheer2: :yay: :cool2:

1) What one thing are you most interested in "discovering" on the Fantasy?

My verandah!!! This will be our first cruise with one.

2) Who are you most excited to see/meet and why?

Our table mates at dinner because that will decide where and when we eat. If we are a "match" then dinner becomes that much more enjoyable.

3) What is/are your kids most over-the-moon excited about?

Going to St. Maarten and the kids clubs. They can't wait to snorkel.

4) What non-kid activity are you most looking forward to?

Spending time in the Quiet Cove this time and having a nice adult beverage while doing nothing.

5) What flavor/taste are you most looking forward to on the Fantasy?

Palo! Can't wait to try a chocolate souffle. Also my caramel latte from Vista Cafe.

....anyone have any updates that they are awaiting from me???
:surfweb:

Can you believe we are on 99 pages of this thread, and that doesn't even count what the first thread had. Will we have anything to talk about when we are face to face???? :sad2:

Hope everyone is enjoying this weather....if this ISN'T summer, what are we going to be getting at the end of May??? :beach:: Crispy!

Our Family pics??? Sorry to bug...have you had a chance to post...IU just want to be sure everyone knows who to avoid!:rotfl:

Any one interested in a little open discussion? :surfweb: How about playing around with your answers to the following...could be inspiring for the rest of us...

1) What one thing are you most interested in "discovering" on the Fantasy?
Just walking on board and seeing EVERYTHING!! I tried to think of just one thing that outweighs other things...but I just can't!!!

2) Who are you most excited to see/meet and why?
EASY! Capt'n Jack at Castaway or anywhere else....and My Mouse of course!

3) What is/are your kids most over-the-moon excited about?
Everything!! I think the kids clubs and the AquaDuck, but they are excited and ready for everything! Just like mom!

4) What non-kid activity are you most looking forward to?

The Spa Villa's with the husband, and just quiet time at the pools/bar/room :flower3: with hubby....it would be nice if they really enjoy the clubs on sea days so they can also have their own fun vacation time

5) What flavor/taste are you most looking forward to on the Fantasy?

I am dying for a Remy reservation and still kicking myself for missing that one that recently came avaliable, but, I would have to say any and all of the food and any wine pairings...also honestly, I know each day's drink of the day has my name on it!! Could anything really taste better than the DOTD on our ship, finally being on our cruise??!?!?

:cool2: :yay: :cheer2: :yay: :cheer2: :yay: :cheer2: :yay: :cool2:

Can't wait to see what everyone else is thinking!!!

OK, my own answers :lmao::

1) What one thing are you most interested in "discovering" on the Fantasy?

We've only been on the Magic, so the new and improved kids' club with the interactive floor and all the new gadgets and play areas.

2) Who are you most excited to see/meet and why?

My husband. He's in Afghanistan and will be meeting us in Florida. Hows that for exciting?!

3) What is/are your kids most over-the-moon excited about?

Characters, the Aquaduck and snorkeling.

4) What non-kid activity are you most looking forward to?

Spa and date nights. Date nights on a Disney cruise are so liberating, no sitter to get back to, peace of mind knowing your kids could call if they need you, so otherwise...you know they're happily (oh so happily) occupied!

5) What flavor/taste are you most looking forward to on the Fantasy?

good wine. I've been dieting since August first, not for the cruise, more for my health. I've had wine three times in eight months, so definitely the super wine on board. :woohoo: And Jaymepops, I may join you in the drink of the day!

Fun idea! Can't think of one answer for most of them, haha :)

1) What one thing are you most interested in "discovering" on the Fantasy?

My sanity!!!! :lmao:

2) Who are you most excited to see/meet and why?

The Disboards crew, of course!!!!

3) What is/are your kids most over-the-moon excited about?

Where to start?!?! Clubs, Aquaduck, clubs, Castaway Cay, clubs, hanging out on the pool deck, clubs... The list goes on!

4) What non-kid activity are you most looking forward to?

Drinks of the day... Next to (and in) the Quiet Cove pool... While reading a book (or two... Or 3...) on my Kindle. But I'm not picky!

5) What flavor/taste are you most looking forward to on the Fantasy?

Since I used the above answer already, I'll say Palo Brunch if I can get it! If not, I'm not sure there is anything I'm NOT looking forward to tasting in looking at the menus!

1. Ummm... everything? We've never been on a cruise before, so it's all going to be a discovery for us!

2. I'm excited to meet all the DISers!! And the characters, of course. :grouphug:

3. We don't have kids, so not really applicable. :confused3

4. Probably the whole cruise :goodvibes

5. Not sure yet, but I'll know when I taste it

So what do you all plan on wearing??? How dressy or not dressy?? If you don't dress up for a formal night, can you still eat in the dining rooms?

I have a sequined dress, and a Halston dress (both short), so I'm going all out this time, but that's just me being excited to have a reason to dress up. I found that people dressed very diversely on formal and semi formal night. Some ladies wore floor length, and some had "smart" or business casual clothes. I think it's your's for the interpretation. Go with it if it's fun for you (and willing DH's), otherwise, whatever suits you. (pun intended)

I'm glad someone asked that and thanks for the answer. I was wondering how dressy we needed to be.

You sure can eat in the dining rooms even if you don't dress up. I mentioned to our servers on our last cruise that we weren't going to come the next night, formal night, b/c we didn't plan to dress up. They begged us to come anyway, said it really doesn't matter. And you know what, they were right. We saw people who went all out, gowns and tuxedos, and people who came in their touring clothes from the day. We were somewhere in between and didn't feel out of place at all. I don't even think I own a dress right now (always preferred being out in the barn with the horses to dressing up), so I think this cruise will be the same for us, no formal wear. We'll probably be cruise casual that night too.

1)Pepe's stateroom door & the Muppet Midship Detective game!!!!!!

2)Fellow Disers - Duh!!

3) We are the kids!!! So we'll go with AquaDUCK!

4) Europa!! We weren't really into the nightclubs on the Magic, but the bars in Europa look so COOL:thumbsup2

5) Anything that starts with a "D" and ends with "essert"

I just wear a suit on both nights & I only pack one - just different shirt & tie for each night. My wife wears a dress, but nothing too formal.

You really will see a full range of attire, but they can't be too strict - Donald Duck doesn't even wear pants ;)

Awesome justification!!!

Donald Duck may not wear pants, but Chip & Dale in white tie and tails is a sight to behold!!

DH wears a suit (no vest) with Hidden Mickey ties, of course! I wear short cocktail dresses...we have dined with friends who wore t-shirts to formal dinner...nobody really cares! I think the formal attire is optional! Meanwhile, if you travel w/ my 3 DD (30, 27, 23) who are NOT coming this time, Formal is NOT optional LOL

If you plan to dine at Palo or Remy, jackets for men and dress/skirt/pantsuit for women is expected.

1) I'm so excited just to be on board and seeing it all that I will say discovering how to hide onboard so I don't have to get off! LOL...otherwise my 2nd choice would be the new rainforest room in the Spa.

2) Brent and Captain Tom (who I'm hoping are the captain and CD on our cruise) because on our 1st cruise a 7 night eastern on DCL they were the Captain and CD and well they are some of the few reasons we have been addicted ever since. Then of course all you DIS'ers that are onboard!

3) No, Kids but we will say the AquaDUCK too!

4) Drink of the Days and the Spa and Europa

5) The Panna Cotta at Palo!

For Formal night, we are dressing up I have a floor length Dress that I got at goodwill for $5 yes folks you read that right $5. I wasn't even looking for anything was dropping off some donations and saw it hanging there and well I couldn't pass it up.

For Semi Formal I have 3 different dresses I have to decide between and the other two will be delegated to Palo night and Remy night.

Between Palo, Remy, Formal, and Semi-Formal we only need Cruise Casual for dinners 3 nights. No Pirate night wear (Remy night) so that is one less outfit to pack on our list.

So what do you all plan on wearing??? How dressy or not dressy?? If you don't dress up for a formal night, can you still eat in the dining rooms?

We like to dress up, so we plan to do so. That doesn't mean we'll be dressed to the nines every night, though. I just went on a shopping spree (ahem, splurge :rolleyes1) and bought several dresses online to then try on at home to see which ones I like best. I am a little anal... I like color and don't want to be seen wearing the same colors in every picture, so I got a variety! We're eating at Palo and Remy, but neither are on formal/semi-formal night (I think? not sure), so we'll need nicer clothes for those plus for the forma/semi-formal nights. I've got a basic black dress I can use for Remy, and the others will be skirts/summery dresses for the other nights.

I'm so glad you suggested these questions!!! :)

1) What one thing are you most interested in "discovering" on the Fantasy?

I can't pick just one - sorry! :( I'm notorious for being indecisive. I'm looking forward to the Enchanted Art, the Muppet game, the mini-golf (probably rather simple, but we're mini-golf fans), the new shows, the AquaDuck, seeing the kids clubs, and feasting my eyes on the atrium!

2) Who are you most excited to see/meet and why?

You guys and Deb Wills (I'm part of the All Ears group). I've been reading her site for years, so meeting her will be fun! :)

3) What is/are your kids most over-the-moon excited about?

My niece is excited about the AquaDuck and her bed (the upper berth, the one that pulls down from the ceiling over the couch and has stars that illuminate on the ceiling above it).

4) What non-kid activity are you most looking forward to?

I'm really looking forward to Remy. We aren't club people, and with my niece with us, I doubt we'll spend much time on the ship in those areas. But we are "foodies" and are really excited for the Remy experience.

5) What flavor/taste are you most looking forward to on the Fantasy?

I am determined to get a Palo brunch reservation::yes:: , so I'm looking forward to the food there. I am also excited about Remy's options! :)

So I am spending my weekend in laundry agony (my laundry room looks like bombs went off!), so I perked it up by setting a suitcase in the corner and putting in bathing suits and some cruise clothes... Not only is there less to have to lug upstairs to put away, there's a little reminder of the fun to come and that I won't be stuck in the basement forever, haha :)

Going to see Hunger Games today too for a break. With DH out of town and DS's at Grandma's house, it's time to get stuff done AND have a *little* me time!!!! I have til 2:30 when I have to pick up the older DS and take him to the hockey game he won tickets to in a chuck-a-puck contest we played at a game we went to last year. His puck was closest to the center (not sure HOW b/c the one I watched him throw nailed some poor guy in the back of the head! He must have had good aim :) ) and he won 2 press box tickets, sitting on the bench during warm-ups, manning the penalty box for a period and a $20 gift certificate to spend at the store. So it's a Mommy/Son date for us :) Looks like a great afternoon ahead!

I hope everyone else is having a great weekend!!!!

Wow sounds like a nice weekend minus the house work! Enjoy the movie and the hockey game jealous on the game I miss Hockey games.

Hi everyone:wave:

I've been reading a lot of the "tips/secrets/advice" type threads lately & I keep seeing "order breakfast from room service" come up as a suggestion. Well I wanted to share my personal alternative to this "tip" with you guys. Maybe it will work for one of you as well.

The problem I have with the breakfast menu through room service is that its basically pastries & cold cereal - in other words, very limited. (Unless of course you are concierge-level, then good for you - enjoy your full service breakfast menu. You can stop reading now if you like. ;)) So, how to compromise between the convenience of room service & the selection of the buffet?

Simple - I am typically awake before my wife, especially on vacation. Once I am dressed & she starts getting ready I head up to the buffet. I load a tray full of our favorite breakfast items - including the HOT ones:thumbsup2 - and I walk right back down to our stateroom. We have breakfast in our stateroom, set the tray & dishes in the hallway just like room service dishes, then we are out the door to our activities. This was a particularly good strategy for us on Port days.

Anyway - nothing earth shattering - and I fully recognize that there are cons to my method. It just worked well for us, and thought it might work well for some of you guys too.

We will likely go to the restaurants some mornings too, but usually on sea days when we are not rushing to get off the ship & start exploring a port. (Or rushing to pelican plunge before it gets busy:laughing:)
