Sooooo....we are at 369 days!!! Nearly to the one-year mark!

Hopefully we will get an updated pic from Meyer-Werft early this week!

Wow, low usage of the boards!!! Where is everyone? There are still several groups on page 1 that haven't turned in any information. Hopefully people will start chiming in soon!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

To all of the mothers, the mothers of mothers, the mothers of others.
To the new mothers, the mothers that have left us, and the mothers that will be.
To all of the grandmothers, godmothers, and those that just show some motherly love to others.....
May this be a Mother's Day you never forget.

Could you please change our FE status to "yes"? Thanks!

As FE newbies, we still need to make a Fish Extender. The fabric store had Disney fabrics on sale this week so I bought everything we needed to make a FE, plus some bonus fabric to make a few exchange gifts. Yay! It looks like we'll have a Winnie the Pooh themed FE. (Not quite sure how I'm going to make it yet... too many ideas floating around my head.)

Also, I'm shocked to hear kids are getting out of school already! Schools up here run from late-August through the last week of June! Now I'm a little concerned that the parks and the crusie will be swarmed with kids off school already. (I thought it was a quiet time... guess not.)

On that note, we've started planning what we want to do with this trip. It looks like we'll be staying at Universal Studios for three days and then transferring to WDW for a week before the cruise. It's going to be so much fun!

And now... the waiting game... just over a year to go... (less if we count to the day we arrive in Orlando.)

We were on the Magic on 2/27/10-3/6/10, and we had heard that 40% of all of the passengers were from Canada. Evidently, we picked a time to travel that coincided with a Canadian school break! Met some very nice French-speaking Canadians, and thru a secondary conversation, we met a couple and their daughter on the trip that lives about 1.5 miles away from us! Even more 'small world'-----the wife was an ER physician in the same hospital that my wife was in Labor/Delivery for.....

Wow I've missed a lot! I'm so sorry I have been so bad at keeping up on here. It's been a very crazy couple of months. I think I posted on here awhile back that the boys had strep from our last cruise... Well our youngest still has not shaken it since March 1! He's had 4 positive tests in the last 2 months and it's causing a heart murmur, so I've been stressed about him to say the least. The doctor has one more test running and we should know within the next day or two if he's a "carrier" and then go from there. Nothing too major as it would probably just mean the tonsils have to go, but he's been catching everything else under the sun since his immune system is haywire-- a couple of weeks ago it was hand foot and mouth... Yesterday we took him in for a rash (thinking it was mono b/c it came out when he went on the amoxicillin for the strep), but it's fifths disease... This poor kid needs a break!!!!

So-- on to break! I saw people were posting their summer plans... Alex graduates from Kindergarten on June 1... The last day for Joey is June 3, then we have Soap Box Derby on June 4. Leaving for Texas soon after that as my brother lives in Fort Worth and we have never been to his house. Looking forward to some dry weather (hope I didn't just jinx myself!!!!). Home for a few weeks, then on to Louisville... Home for a week and a half then it's Cub Scout resident camp for a week... home for a couple of days then it's off to Jamaica for me and my hubby to celebrate our 10th anniversary! So, it's a busy summer, but I can't wait! I moved from the Bronx to Cleveland to Wheeling, so this city girl is itching to move :-)

Hope everyone out there is safe in this weather-- how crazy! We had a microburst hit, but everyone here was ok. The trees everywhere are eerie. It's scary what mother nature can do... Hope she gets it out of her system before next May!!!!

Wow, glad to hear everyone is okay. We're battling our own natural disaster too. A town just north of us, Slave Lake, Alberta was destroyed by wildfire. All 7000+ residents were evacuated safely; no injuries reported. (Sadly, some animals didn't make it, but many did.) Mother Nature can pack a mean punch.

The whole province is stepping up to make sure everyone is taken care of - people donating food, clothing, diapers, rooms in their hosue to accommodate evacuated families and animals; free cell phone minutes, bus service, hotel rooms, admission to entertainment venues; and even donating heavy machinery to help battle the blaze and to clean up and rebuild when the time comes - it's very heartwarming.

So sorry to hear that your son has been sick! The old strep bomb! It always made me wonder why they (the dr.s) would make you come back for a two week check up after and ear infection but never a follow up after strep?! Because and untreated strep can lead to heart damage! Go figure! My son had something called Ludwigs angina when he was in middle school. It was a very scary time and we were at the dr every week saying he is not getting better. His strep cultures kept coming back neg. It took my sister (RN) talking to one of the dr at her work in frustration and he said he has ... So my next dr visit I went in on a mission, said the only way we would know for sure is a cat scan. Got the cat scan and he was in emergency surgery that night, and in the hospital for a week! It takes a village! You know your child better than any one else! I hope he gets well soon! I also hope you have a great summer and you get to enjoy all that running you are doing!

Once again I can say... It takes a village! It is so amazing to me how much people will help out when you are in trouble, we found that out in St Louis mo after the tornado hit here at Easter time!
