**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

Hope everyone had a nice Mother's day. We stayed home and grilled out by the pool. The whole time DS7 kept talking about the pools on the Dream and asking how much longer until our Fantasy cruise :rotfl:

2 more weeks of school left until Summer break. Anyone planning fun trips this summer? We're off to Jekyll island for a week next month. Not as nice a beach as CC, but we'll make do! :beach:

No big plans this year that is why we are counting every second until the fantasy! popcorn::

We had Igor on the Wonder back in 2007 he was awesome!!

We had Igor in Palo for dinner and tea this past January... he is great too! We asked if he was going to the Fantasy :confused3 and he said he preferred staying on the Magic... I guess I would probably make the same choice considering the changes in itineraries.:cloud9:

our family has a lot going on this summer and i'm counting on that to help make 3 of the 12 months we have left to fly by. we will be in NorCal for two wks in may/jun then i have a hs friend flying in for riverbend (a local music festival) for 10 days, then dd has nationals for gymnastics at WDW and we are staying on property for the first time ever :cheer2: then we fly to utah to visit family and friends for two weeks and at the end of that i have a gwo (girls wknd out) w/ a bunch girlfriends i've known for years from all over the country, we get together once a year in different places this year happens to be utah which works out well since i'll already be there, lol!

kids have 9 days of school left wahoo! and we leave the day after... as warm as it's been here (what happened to spring? :confused3 ) the cool SF summer will be more than welcome.

c'mon everyone, what are you doing?

p.s. our's isn't always this crazy (tho sometimes close since we live so far from friends and family) but this is dh's summer between finishing training and starting his "for reals" job so we are taking advantage

We have some plans this summer...

In June we are leaving FL and going to hopefully cooler weather back in MA and CT to visit family for my cousin's HS graduation. Anything under 100 would be great. I thought I was going to pass out from the heat when I took the trash out today! It was so hot and humid!

Then in July we are doing a Stay-cation since we have the cruise next year we are doing 9 nights/10 days in St. Augustine, FL its about 2 hours from Orlando, but I got a great deal on the Hampton Inn there and we figure we will just do what we can, enjoy being out of the house, swim, get a tan, and be beach bums LOL. We know it will be really hot but its the only chance we will have since I will be back at school end of August while this summer I could do my classes online so we can getaway and not worry about me missing anything.

I'm sure other plans will pop up but with my mother's back and her facing back surgery even the St. Augustine plans are tentative. So we shall see how this all goes :)

Not too many plans for me once I have my Disneyland Adventure trip with JorDan  :woohoo::dance3::cheer2:. I fly to Salt Lake City in 4 short days :woohoo: and then 3 days later, JorDan and I fly out to California :dance3:. Unfortunately once I return work will be in full blown total chaos mode :scared1:. Our fiscal year end is June 30th and the year-end process starts in May and doesn't end until mid-September. It is absolutely NUTS how long the process is :confused3. This will be my 3rd year-end so I hope it will be easier than past ones. Last year was much better than my first one, so I'm optimstic :thumbsup2. There are many late nights and weekend work, which kinda stinks.

Brian and I may take a road trip to West Virginia in the Fall to vist Lynsey and Jason and so Brian and Jason can do some hunting. Other than that, nothing else on the radar. I do have a WDW annual pass that's good until mid-September, so maybe I'll win the lottery, quit my job, and work in another WDW trip :cool1:.

Before the cruise, we will be at WDW for a few days and after the cruise, we plan on a 5 day WDW stay. The next thing planned is a Holiday trip to WDW with my friend Alicia . We have gone to WDW for my birthday the past 4 years, but won't be able to do it this year :sad2:. We are arriving the day after Thanksgiving and staying at Vllas at Wilderness Lodge for a week. Alicia has only stayed at Pop Century, so she will be in for a treat :cloud9:. Not Disney related, but all my sisters (6 of us in all :grouphug:) are going to Key West for a week in February 2013 (I know, we are crazy long term planners :scared1:) to celebrate sister #2 turing 60 princess:. We all went to Vegas for sister #1's 60th birthday and had an incredible time :woohoo:. We all get along fantasically and really enjoy each other's company, so I'm sure it will be a trip with many happy memories :grouphug:.

I'm a counselor at a university in Southern Ohio, and I get summers off, so this is my first week of enjoying sleeping in, not wearing make-up unless I want to, and doing pretty much whatever sounds good! :) I do have a second job that I'll be working 23 hours a week for from June through mid-July to help make some moolah for the cruise. I'm going to see a friend in Nebraska in a few weeks, but other than that, my summer plans include rest, relaxation, and Disney planning! We are taking a 4-day trip to WDW mid-October for MNSSHP, and then we're also going to head to the parks the Wednesday before the cruise up until Saturday. As dznyacct said, we are long-term planners, too, and are trying to coordinate trips with several family friends we'll be taking to Disney with us in 2013, 2014, and 2015! :) We've got to plan that far ahead so we know how to use/save our DVC points and give those families time to save up money.

It's finally starting to get a bit humid here in southern Ohio, but it's nice to have the windows open and the ceiling fans running! I hope everyone's doing well in your respective neck of the woods. :)

We'll be at Epcot on Saturday from close to opening until probably 2pm then heading over to MK from about 3 until Closing. The only time we won't be able to meet up would be while we have dinner at 3:20 (only time the Plaza had that wouldn't interfere with the fireworks and parade)

If you want to meet up let me know by PM and I can give you a way of contacting me if need be :)

It sounds like everyone has great plans for this summer. As for those that will be in the park I am  with being jellous. June has always been a busy month for us the first weekend in June is tour de cure. It's an charity bike ride for diabetes and we usually work a rest stop but this year is our daughters graduation. The following weekend is her pool party. The next weekend is fathers day weekend and the last is my families yearly camping trip! Busy busy busy then it's the forth of July, I don't know if anyone ever worked retail but the forth makes me feel like summer is over! I hate it but it's just the way my clock inside my body works. Maybe we can try to do something to get that changed!

...Anyone planning fun trips this summer?

The entire family will be in Hawaii this time next week. In June I have a business conference in Las Vegas, then DW has a conference in St Louis in early August and I'm tagging along. Then just before Labor Day we'll be on a Celebrity cruise to Alaska (anniversary celebration).

Wow! Sounds rough! How ever will you cope?

Retirement is tough. All this travel to fun places will be difficult but I'll do the best I can! :rotfl:

When we're in Hawaii I'm planning to drive over to the Aulani site and check it out. According to our DVC agent, we can view it from the road.

Color me green as well. The 2012 cruise will be my first real vacation since our honeymoon (2 years ago.) I'm already counting the days!!!

I am so jealous reading about everyone's summer plans. This is the first summer ever we not going away and the first since 2005 we are not going to WDW:sad1: We were planning to do the Magic Mediterranean cruise but I unexpectedly got pregnant so now our little surprise princessprincess: is arriving in August so we can't go anywhere this summer, but hopefully we can do something later on this year. I don't think I'll be able to wait until our Fantasy cruise to get my Disney fix . I hope everyone enjoys their summer vacations!!!:goodvibes

As for summer plans, all we have so far is U2 in Anaheim next month, a short trip to the Grand Canyon in July (neither of us have ever been) and a couple events at the Hollywood Bowl in August (Eddie Izzard Tour & Walt Disney's Fantasia Live & Fireworks). Oh yeah, and we already have our tickets to the D23 Expo 8/19-/21.

However, in October we'll be heading over to check out Aulani in Hawaii!! We have some extra points to use so we booked a studio ocean view and I'm excited since we never really use our points to get better views since they're just to high. I've been to Oahu before so I'm looking forward to doing a little relaxing this time around. It seems quite a few people around here are going in Oct!

Saturday we are Vegas bound for a few days to celebrate our 12th anniversary together!!! It's actually today so we had a nice lunch at PF Chang's but I'm ready to get out of town for a little mini break!

Even though, I'm sooo looking the most forward to this cruise. New ship, new friends, and lots of old ones!!! It's gonna be a blast. Oh, and before I get too excited...I forgot to mention that I can't put in for the time off until the second week of Jan 2012 so everyone please keep your fingers crossed that I'll get the time off. At this point, it's not looking great. There are 12 people in my department and I'm 10th to pick. Since this cruise is close to a holiday weekend it really hurts my odds but I'm ready to beg and plead so we'll see what happens. It just sucks to have to wait another 7 months to find out.

Wow - sounds like great summer plans for everyone! I am jealous of all the Mickey time everyone is getting. This will be the first year in a long time that I don't get to visit WDW.

We are sending Sabrina to swim camp this summer. Her first time at a camp away. I am hoping it will build her confidence up with swim but not thrilled the camp is at Texas A&M (I am a Texas Longhorn) but, they got her in so can't complain.

Every year and a half we go to Finland to visit Joni's (DH) family. That means every 3 years we go in the summer and this happens to be that year. We planned last fall to spend an extended period of time over there and will go for 6 weeks this time. We will both work for 2 of the 6 weeks from his Mom's house but I think it will be nice to have so much time abroad. We want the kids to be comfortable in Finland sincee they are both citizens and college is FREE for them :cheer2:. From Finland I am taking Sabrina and a friend to Stockholm on a short cruise. Should be fun. Joni and I may also go to Estonia for a night or two for our anniversary. We may end up going with some friends somewhere else in Europe -- Barcelona has come up as an option. That would be fun (no kids of course) but nothing is set yet.

I am counting down the days to that vacation but also can't wait to hit the year mark for the cruise. It will be a blast!!!!

Ok, back to work. Trying to get reports done before the weekend. Have a good weekend everyone!

Sorry we missed you but we weren't up to a day in the parks and dealing with the rain. Can't wait to meet you on the boat next year though :)

We are contemplating canceling our St. Augustine trip this summer, and doing a Stay-cation closer to Orlando and our home....Port Orleans Riverside  it would be our first WDW stay in a hotel and be a resort guest vacation since 2008 before we moved to Orlando.

We have to see about booking it through my father's discount as a CM and if there is availability before we lock into the WDW plan so hopefully it works out.

8 nights 9 days and maybe 1 day in the parks the rest of the time will be spent relaxing at the resort, exploring things like mini golf, the hot air balloon at DTD, boat rides, carriage rides, and just enjoying being out of our apartment for an extended period of time.
