**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

Lara:

Are you working with Sues14 on bracelets? Just wondering.

If there is an order placed. We would be interested in two bracelets. My wrist is small so if there are sizing options I would like something on the small side.. pirate:

If we do the bracelets, we would be interested in 2 adult ones!

It is 20 school days until we are out for summer and we leave the day I get out! Whoohoo!!

We are participating in the FE exchange. We are currently in an inside room and if we can upgrade at the port for a reasonable amount, we may do that. If we do, we will make sure to deliver our FE gifts on the first day & include a note who they are from and that our room number has changed.

So excited that DH & I will be joining y'all on this cruise! This group is so active and sounds like such a fun group :thumbsup2

I've read a lot but can't recall all that was written now...

Pixie dust to all those who or whose family have had setbacks - hope this vacation is a bright spot on your horizon. :grouphug:

If the 'state/regional' gift meet-up still happens, we'd like to participate in that or just a regular meet up if that's it.

As for formal wear we've done those on longer cruises in the past, but will forego it this time. DH bought me new flippers and I want to test them out so will be using luggage space for our snorkel gear instead. I made a Palo res for formal nite.

I've signed us up for the America Cup regatta - our first time really sailing so we'll see how we do :lmao:

We're flying in a day early and after the cruise spending the long weekend at WDW before heading home. Been on the Wonder a couple of times but really pysched about sailing on the Fantasy. :yay:

5Dreamers - thx a mint for posting about the Budget van deal - everything I saw before was double that; booked one this morning :worship:

Can hardly wait to see the Navigators/TR from the first Eastern sailing too. Looking fwd to meeting everyone on the ship! :goodvibes

cheers,
:)

Getting caught up *again,* haha :) Hubby and I went luggage shopping this weekend as the trusty suitcases that have been through the ringer on our other trips have, well... Been through the ringer ;)

Had a pretty exciting weekend-- My youngest's first grade class had a birthday party on Saturday night... It was at the roller derby. Let me just say I officially learned the hard way that I am no longer 17 years old... And, therefore, neither are my knees. When you go down at this age, you go down HARD and I definitely bit it!!! But it makes for a fun story and certainly entertained the triage staff at the ER. Was racing my 9 year old on roller blades and went down-- bottom half of leg went one way, top half went the other... Tendons apparently do NOT like this arrangement and tend to give out with the pressure. Long story short, got a 2nd degree sprain of the MCL (meaning my knee can now bend slightly side to side instead of front to back... Crazy!), knee effusion and I have an MRI coming up to check for tears in the MCL and meniscus. Soooo-- it's an immobilizer and crutches for this roller blading momma... They better be gone before this trip!!!! At least it's an immobilizer and not a cast... I can imagine coming home with one white leg and one tan...

Hope everyone else is staying warm!!! I can't believe this weather!!!!! I might just hide away on Castaway Cay if it doesn't get better by the time we go!!!!

Welcome!

5Dreamers - thx a mint for posting about the Budget van deal - everything I saw before was double that; booked one this morning :worship:

Glad others can save a few $ too!
I'm surprised to see that price is still being offered this evening.

Guys, check out these great scans of the full menus from the MV. This gal got them uploaded perfectly. There appear to be a lot of old favorites included and some new options as well.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B91BqzFbpQVPcWNSVEphdEJkc2s/edit

OK all, which is your favorite menu?? :worship:

Thanks for posting this link! I can't wait to try many of the appetizers, soups and desserts from all of the menus!

Might want to check for Remy on Pirate Night for 2 adults. We ended up canceling our reservation for Remy as we looked over the menu one last time and decided that we just don't see us enjoying enough of the menu for the price. I'm sure its all delicious but we would rather use those funds for some Drinks of the Day!

We have everything we need for the FE exchange and can't wait to deliver everything. I can't wait to see what everyone on the list came up with.

Have we decided about meeting once on board?

We'd also be interested in the bracelets. We'd need 5, I'd be happy to buy them from someone on the ship at our group meet.

DH has a very large wrist, my wrist is small and is only a tiny bit bigger than my 8 year old's, and a tiny bit smaller than my 11 year old's, so I'm thinking I may be considered a child size.

I was 24 pages behind when I started reading last night so when I saw bracelet references, I remembered that I really wanted to have some so I had dh look into them whilst I kept reading. By the time I got to sue's post he had similar info, so I just shared it. We are happy to do anything the group wants...so long as it gets us a bracelet on our wrist, lol! So, let's make it happen, sue if u need help organizing, let me know! ( jmho but I would rather buy and put these in the FE's than sell them to non disers. Not b/c we have the corner on cool, but I was thinking it an identifier, know what i mean? Just a thought, again, ok with whatever.)

Lara

P.s. I'm a "domestic engineer/professional volunteer :goodvibes

I notice you will be in Disneyworld for the weekend after the cruise - did you know it is Star Wars Weekend at the Disney Hollywood Studios.

I really feel for you! I got a second degree tear in my Medial Collateral at Typhoon Lagoon a few years ago in sort of similar circumstances - Thinking I was about thirty years younger than I am I decided I was going to body surf the next big wave. However when I saw the size of it coming towards me I thought :scared1:*!^'unmentionable words'!*#:scared1: and turned to run away, but the bottom part of my left leg didn't turn. To make it worse, it was the day before we were due to return home, so I just took a load of pain relief and went to my family doctor when I got home. As I'd just been on a long flight, he decided to play safe and send me to hospital with a suspected DVT. They started me on treatment right away, but couldn't give me a scan for five days, which of course showed no DVT, so I spent five days injecting myself in my stomach twice daily for no reason. :sad2: It needed several months of physio but is OK now. :thumbsup2 hope you start to feel better soon. :flower3:

I'm also volunteering to castaway on Castaway with you - the weather in the UK is even colder than usual - I've even had to take the seeds I planted out of the greenhouse and put them in the conservatory to get them to germinate. :flower1:

Welcome to the group! We did a similar excursion in Cabo San Lucas a couple of years ago, and it was fabulous! (well, I thought it was - DH got seasick:sick:)
I learned all about racing and how the teams work, actually was able to do some of the "grinding", turning the handles that reposition sails. The guys on our yacht were great as teachers, and "our" yacht won both of our races!! I am sure you will have a fun time!

Have we decided about meeting once on board?

Thanks for the heads-up. Unfortunately, your ressie has already been snagged! We have a ressie on Friday night at 6 PM, so we are going to try to switch to Tuesday or Thursday since there doesn't seem to be a farewell show yet and the last night's show is Believe. We don't want to miss that one. We can't see the 4 PM show because there's an AllEars meet at the time, and during the 6:15 and 8:30 shows we'll (STILL) be at dinner at Remy. We'll keep trying though. I check the site multiple times a day, and if worse comes to worst, we'll appeal to the Remy powers-that-be to ask if we can push back our meal to 7:20 or 7:40 (time to drop Hannah off at the club and make it to Remy without being covered in sweat from trekking across the ship). I read that it's easier to get a reservation moved when you already have one than to get a new one. If they let us do that, we could then see the 6:15 show, and my crazy little obsessive heart that *needs* to do all the little things I want to do will rest easy. :rotfl:

The meet: I don't think we've decided. The AllEars group won't be having a formal meeting on embarkation day as far as I can tell, so we could do our meeting time that day. I learned that our mandatory muster drill would be at 3:45 PM, so we'd have to be done by then. Let me formally suggest embarkation day at 3 PM. My only concern is that maybe some people won't be onboard yet? I don't know how likely that is, since we have to be aboard by 4 PM if we are going to sail, but I don't want to exclude anyone. But since many people will already be onboard and have dropped off day bags in their staterooms a couple of hours earlier, this should work... :confused3? As kimistry6 has said, that time worked well for her group as well as for my last cruise meet. Admittedly, I don't know the deck plans as well, but we could meet at the family pool at 3 PM. That way, kids can be swimming, parents can be watching and chatting, etc. Then, by 3:45, we could head to our muster drill stations.

Once we decide on a time, could you put it on the front page of the thread, Tony?

What does everyone think? Are we excluding anyone with this day/time? Any concerns here? I'd say we just pick in the next couple of days so it's decided.

Have a great night, one and all! :)

ETA: Bah, I knew I'd forget. Welcome to the newcomers! :)

Sounds good to me. Last cruise, the DVC Members get-together for fun and prizes was 2:45 to 3:45 or so and we went to that and missed the DISBoards meet and greet. NEVER AGAIN! We'll be at the meetup! :thumbsup2:woohoo:

Just wanted to say that the BBB and Pirates League reservations are available to book online now, checked this AM and got what I wanted .....
have a nice day:love:

We got ours too :cool1:. Now if I only had a little girl to be able dress up I would be set. My 5 yr old (Nicholas) is very excited to do pirates league. My 8 yr old(Matthew) is fighting me about doing it. Normally, I wouldn't push the issue but I know once we are on the ship, he will change his mind.

FE LIST CHANGE! (for first group only)

5Dreamers and Sues14 have been watching my back and alerted me to an FE dropout (ECBlovesMickey) that I missed.

Please take a look at the spreadsheet to see how this affects you. I'm hesitant to balance the groups by moving donaldsgal up to first section because we're so close to sailing. So first group - you have one less stateroom to deliver to.

SORRY about the mistake. (who let this guy manage the list anyway?!?!?!:confused3)
