Fantasy 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise 8/2/14 - 8/9/14

I sit on the board of the Please Touch Museum in Philly. It is amazing:love: One of the perks is free admission for my guest. I also have friends at the Philadelphia Zoo:)

I am sitting here trying to plan our trip to Orlando for this year:) The family wants to do some new things since we go almost every year. Any suggestions:confused3

Just booked and over the moon! I haven't started reading the thread, but wanted to introduce us. I'm Joy, traveling with my DH, DD (13), DS (10) and Dparents whose ages I am not permitted to disclose. Never been on the "new" ships before, though we've done several on the "classics." Can't BELIEVE we're sailing again. Looking forward to meeting you all.

P.S. If anyone has children of similar ages, I've set up pen pals for my kids on prior cruises (email or snail mail works for us) and the kids have Really enjoyed having a 'friend' before they ever get on the ship. (Really hoping I didn't just come off as too pushy! :joker:)

See ya Real soon!

Welcome Joy:thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to getting to know the group before we cruise:goodvibes

Don't be impressed:rotfl: Whenever you are on a board for anything, you never get paid and are always expected to support their fundraisers;)

We live in Yeadon, PA but our children go to a private school in Montgomery Township:thumbsup2

I'm a teacher for that 'fancy' public school on the Main Line. You're teaching me something about local geography. I have the suspicion there must be two Montgomery Townships, as I can't believe you'd send your daughters all the way to my neck of the woods. Still so much to learn. . .

My closest connection to the Philly Zoo fundraisers is that my son's boychoir sang for the Gala last fall when the new Children's zoo was opened. He had a blast!

Your 14 yo wouldn't happen to love: dance, indie music or Dr. Who, would she?

I've spent WAY too much time trolling these boards tonight. Haven't been on since our last cruise, Aug of 2012. Seems like there's a lot yet to learn about the Fantasy, and I can't wait. Must go to bed. 5:30 comes WAY too early!

My children go to Phil-Mont. Their is only one Montgomery Twp. that I know of :)

With rush hour, it's a little less than one hour each way:scared1:

I was at the opening for the new Children's zoo too. I left after they let the sheep and the goats start climbing the steps and walking on the ramps.

I have been on the Fantasy once and the Dream twice, so feel free to ask any questions.

I just booked the 8/2 cruise for our family of 5. We are booked in a 4A. It's me, my dh, and 3 kids. At time of sailing they will be ds 13, ds 10, and dd 8. Her birthday is on 8/4, so she'll be celebrating her 9th birthday on board.

Looking forward to our first family cruise!

Welcome:banana:

This sounds like an exciting cruise for your family. I would love to celebrate my birthday on a DCL cruise.

Me and my DW took a CL cruise this past fall for our wedding anniversary and DCL spoiled us rotten:goodvibes

Gracious! I'm pleased you are, seemingly, quite happy with the school, but I don't envy any of you the commute. I thought driving from Lansdale to the Main Line was annoying!

Thank you for the offer. I've been trolling the boards, I'm sure I'll think of things as we proceed!

My wife works for McNeil so it's not as bad as it seems. She has to go that way anyway and she uses the kids sports and play rehearsals as an excuse to work late. Lol

Is anyone interested in starting a facebook page for the Disney Fantasy to the Western Carribean 08/02/2014-08/09/2014? :)

I'm in if you want to start a page:thumbsup2

I'd be happy to be part of a FB page. One note, from previous experience, some dis-ers were less than thrilled when much of the communication from a prior cruise ended up on Fb and not here. I enjoy the ability to have "everything in one place" and did end up staying FB friends with several from prior cruises. That said, I am aware that some on the dis felt "left out" and we ended up double-posting lots of stuff. :surfweb:

Also, this was two - three years ago, so the world has changed lots in that time. :confused3
