WOW! That's $1600 more than our June 2012 cruise that had no discounts.
We got it on hold, but pretty sure were not going to keep it. :sad1:

I wanted to do that week too. We did that week this year using VGT. I cannot believe how high the price was! $6800 for 2A1C in a 5A...crazy!

I wish. DW is a teacher. One thing to pull the kids out of school. Another to pull the teacher out. could leave her at home but it will be her 40th birthday. Anyone know a good divorce lawyer??

DH is a teacher. He gets 3 days of paid personal days, but can take more unpaid. We calculated it was cheaper to go off season and lose two days pay, than to pay high season prices. Just a thought....? Plus airfare will be cheaper. We're linking our cruise with marathon weekend (he'll run the half the morning we set sail). It was the cheapest way to do it. Is it possible for your wife to do something similar?

Our kids are homeschooled, so they are flexible.

Ugggh, that's bad news as this was a cruise we had also targeted. Looks like we will be skipping a 2014 cruise.

We booked:

March 1-8 , Western Caribbean

Cat 8D - Deluxe Family Oceanview
2 adults,2 children : $4165.30

Cat 9A Deluxe Oceanview
2 adults: $2583.50

Rebooked with discount and onboard credits. Includes taxes, no transfers.

I really wanted to book for August again but the price was so prohibitive. This date falls one week before our March break which is not too bad. I'm sure the kids won't complain about two weeks off - lol!

not sure if the info is already here but this is what I am getting as info. So quick poll - would you sign up for this?

we have 4 going Me, DH, Son 14 and daughter 15 so one stateroom is not really large enough any more.

Each price is for 2 people in each stateroom Category 05D - Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah.

7-night Eastern Caribbean (Disney Fantasy)
8/9/14 - Total price $4536.44 per stateroom

If you've got the money honey....

I for one wouldn't do this for $9K! There's a LOT more I would do with $9K such as all inclusive somewhere. That's just me. Only you can decide that one.

5.24.14 Western

5B 2A2C [7,4] $5344.88
5B 2A2C [5,1] $4923.68

All 10% OBB and no insurance or transfers.

My confirmation didn't have the price breakdown, sorry.

ETA to fix room category

Glad I called.

As I was waiting for the 800 operator to pick up I was very hesitant since online our fantasy 2014 summer cruise was looking to be 10k with cat 9d. However after moving my dummy booking we got the cabin we loved at 7500 (6 people). I feel ok about it since we are summer high season.

Glad you got it. That came in only $200 than I calculated yesterday. I figured it should be somewhat lower as I think our DS(14) is about $50 or so more than your kids, so that would be about $150 of it.

Now we'll just have to get our DIS Meet thread going. :thumbsup2

Hi Jeff! Yes you we're pretty close! I am happy with the final price. I had forgotten about the 10% discount.

Glad we are on the same cruise! Seems to be a bunch of us on those dates. We will have a blast :)

You can start the thread and I'll join! lol ;-)

Much higher than I wanted to pay, but this is our school vacation week, so...

We shove five of us into one stateroom without veranda. We used to love two staterooms, but those days are gone sadly.

Feb 8, 2014 - 7nt. Eastern

Just booked 7 night Western Caribbean with Jamaica

24 May, 2014
Deluxe Inside Stateroom, Cat 10A
3 Adults
$3,892.88 - includes taxes and insurance, but no transfers
10% discount from booking a place holder on previous cruise.

Take away the 10%, and the total cost is roughly $4282.
I don't have the breakdown by occupant, but it shouldn't be hard to work out.

I booked a 7 night western on the Magic, in 2010, and the total cost for that without any discount was $3270. That one was with a deluxe ocean view, only about $160 difference between room prices. So roughly $1000 difference, over 3 years, (or $333 per year). The look on my wife's face, the happiness in her eyes, makes it worth the cost.

The only problem will be if they add a Hawaii cruise, as that was our initial hope. Then I will have to transfer this one to that... unless I can convince her to do both

7 night Eastern
June 14, 2014
4 adults (me, DH and DD22, DD18)
Category 5E, stateroom 10660
With OBB, no transfers, no insurance
$7019.08

Higher than I was hoping for, but we are celebrating both girls graduations (high school for DD18, college for DD22) and mine and DH's 25th wedding anniversary (our actual anniversary will be June 17, while on the cruise!).

We would switch for a lower price, but with both girls being seniors that year, doing anything during the school year would be impossible.

We are keeping it for now, but are seriously thinking of going to Hawaii and staying at Aulani on our DVC points instead. I think we could do a week in Hawaii cheaper than this cruise!

This is with OBB:

5/24/14 11C
2A + 1(3yo)
$3411.96

w/o OBB:
Guest 1 Cruise Fare $1,323.00
Guest 2 Cruise Fare $1,323.00
Guest 3 Cruise Fare $798.00
Fees $261.96
Total Price $3,705.96

I wasn't surprised by this, after keeping up with this thread yesterday. Way more than we're willing to spend up front. It is a holiday week (memorial day) but it isn't much different than the others around it.

Looks like we'll be going with NCL, as I predicted. We have liked their product in the past and at these prices we could cruise 7 nights b2b next year and still have money to spend on board!

Looking forward to seeing what Wonder and Magic are doing for the summer. Hopefully something fun and affordable. :D
