I am new to the FE cruise concept - but will be cruising on the February 2nd Fantasy cruise - with my Husband - and two kids - Age 8 and 5..

How does this work - can someone tell me more? Sounds exciting - but all new to me..

There's lots of info on the boards about FE exchanges (start here) but in a nutshell, you add pockets to the fish (or seahorse) outside your stateroom (hence the name "fish extender.")
Then every participating stateroom leaves a gift for every other stateroom. Gifts vary wildly and typically relate to the cruise or one's hometown or Disney in general. Some are store-bought, some are homemade. It's ultimately a function of time, creativity, budget and what have you. It's almost like a secret Santa - lots of fun!!
Half the fun is going through and leaving FE gifts for others, trying to be stealthy about it. There's no prearranged time. You show up at your stateroom and yay! Another surprise!

Thanks We totally enjoyed our cruise experience adults only last time. We booked onboard to take the kids this time but they have decided to opt out and not go

Can anyone guess how full the ship will be? We were upgraded to a better room when the ship was not at capacity. Are there school districts who have vacation during this time? Thanks!

I don't have any numbers, but based on pricing and other stuff I've seen floating around, it looks like there's still a fairly good amount of availability left. I'm thinking the ship is at somewhere between 2/3 and 3/4 capacity.
I highly doubt any US school districts are on vacation during this time, however, it's possible some European schools will be on semester break.

I just booked us for the Fantasy on 2/2!!! This will be our second Disney cruise. We were on the Dream last March. We saw the Fantasy several times during the cruise and had a firework faceoff with them. It was amazing.

We are a 5a on Deck 10 - not sure about deck 10 - any input? Regarding noise from the deck above?

We are late seating - which i prefer. No need to rush from port to dinner.

Count us in for the FE. We did this last time and the kids had so much fun checking to see if there were new goodies.

It will be me (44) and my 3 sons - 10, 16 & 19.

Looking forward to getting to meet everyone before!

We've been booked since March for the 2/2/13 Fantasy Western Caribbean. I'm Stefanie, and this is mine & hubby's 4th DCL cruise and the kids (5 & 9) 2nd time. We love it so much that we're bringing 30 people with us (only 9 kids in the bunch).

Never done Western Caribbean before and am getting so excited. We'll be at the Main (early) dining.

Hi all. This will be our third Disney Cruise and the first on the Fantasy.
Me 44, DW 41 and DD 7 (8 in March). We have done both the Eastern and Western cruises and are really looking forwarded to seeing the Fantasy as its getting rave reviews.

Our DD is wondering if anyone would like to do a penpal with her. She would like to get to know some of the girls before the cruise as she is an only child and loves to have others to hang with on the ship.

I'm thinking probably around December 1. That would give everyone about 2 months to prepare. Unless everyone thinks the cutoff should be sooner...

We just put down our deposit for this cruise in February! So excited! We are trying to decide whether to add a stop to the parks before heading out to sea. In our traveling party are myself, DH and daughter's 5 and 3. I know my 5 year old will love the kids club but not sure about the 3 year old. She's potty trained but doesn't like being left places on her own. We booked a 5E Guaranteed room but don't have a stateroom yet. so excited!
