OK just trying to decide whether we should do Fantasmic Dinner Package,
tell me everything you know about it. Thanks in advance !!!

If you are going during peak time I would say most definitly! People start lining up 2 hours before hand and I know the kids I go with just can not tolorate waiting that long. With the dinner package, you still need to show up early, but not that early.

If you are going in slower months, you really don't need it. Seats are available so you will not need to worry about it filling to capasity as soon as the doors open. Also, the seat location for the dinner package are not the "best in the house" so it is not like you will be missing out on a great veiw by doing it this way.

I'm anxious to know about this, too.

I'm going April 19-26, 2008, with a toddler under 2 included in our group, and I'd like to know what the general opinion is on needing the package at that time of year.

Thanks!

In my experience, and I'm sure it'll be echo'd by others on the board, any time school is out is going to be a crowded time. If it were me, I would definitly get the package for the april trip.

I was looking into the package for our january trip, and I decided against it, exactly for the thoughts listed above. From what I'm told, the seats aren't the best. I'm willing to wait a little while to get better seats.

Also, orlosipher-
Last time I was there was in 2004, and I opted out of seeing it because I was afraid it would scare my then DS2. My sister went with her DD2 and she was terrified...... Apparently there are some scary parts.

Just want to make you aware! :D

We did this package in August for the first time and it was great. Had dinner (or should I say lunch) at Brown Derby - only drawback was dinner reservation was very early (3:50p) But I have to say it was the Best Dinner we had all week, I would highly recommend Brown Derby and we also had a toddler w/our group. Going to the show was great, no waiting on line, entered through a sep. entrance, which was great, especially with a 2 year old, who was not the most patient on any line. Only a word of warning, we did have someone with us who has seen the show quite a few times so she let us know when it was almost over, because the mob getting out was bad, because you exit the same way as everyone after the show, so I would highly recommend getting a jump on the crowd. Highly recommend the package! :dance3:

Whew, that's good to know. I was just looking at making my ressies for an early december trip, and didn't really want to spend the two table service dinners for the Derby this time around.. We're only planning one day for MGM and my inner nerd craves the Sci-Fi dine-in! :chewy:

Thank you for bringing this up! To be honest, I guess I sort of assumed that the action in this was abstract enough and far enough away from the seats that my toddler wouldn't understand enough to be scared of it. It's my first grader I'm hesitating to bring to it.:scared: I'll be checking over at the board about kids to find out what the consensus is!

BTW: I'm sorry for quoting the whole post; I don't know how to separate out just a part of it!

fantasmic is great, dinner package may be at anywhere other than Brown Derby, overrated, and rude!!

Book early, avoid my mistake.

Can't get a fantasmic pacakge for any date between 20th November and 1st December:(
