Fantastic Alamo code

Well, I've seen arguments on the DIS before, but never have I seen people argue about what they did (or didn't) post on a completely separate board. I'm pretty sure that copying what someone posted on another board is against the DISboard policies. But, I must say I am finding it VERY amusing.

Oh trust me..it's not my style either BUT she posted my post (the update post)from here over on FW first. I don't take lightly to people calling me a liar and making me out to be a bad person whether it's in person or on a message board and I like to set the record straight..even if only a few see before it's removed :guilty:

If that works for you.

I have to be honest with you though - it just kind of made you look like a crazy person. I didn't even notice the "liar" stuff until your post with all that yelling (i.e. bolding).

I'm sure that you aren't a crazy person and I get taking it personally when someone is calling you a liar, but that has to be a better way to deal with it.

Invalid rental information? Since no one at Alamo seems to know what "1" is or Contract ID X is;(algebra, 1=X),
No. In algebra, X equals whatever X equals. It may be one, it may be an entirely different number. The value of X depends on the equation.

Best not to reference invalid information?

In this case the number one, 1, entered in the appropriate box shows on the contract as Corp ID X. It was an attempt at some levity here but it is not invalid information.

Sorry..the bolding wasn't meant to be taken as yelling at all..I was trying to separate "posts".

I did go back and edit the post. I've had some time to cool down...got caught up in the moment ;) And no, I'm not a crazy person...far from it. Some things I just take to heart a little to easily. :sad1:

Yikes folks, I was just trying to help by posting a code that I saw. I didn't mean to start a disagreement. I stated clearly in the OP that I could not find where the code originated and to have a backup. I'm going to ask the mods to close this. If anyone else decides to use the code, please let us know how it goes and good luck.

I just checked my last 2 emails for a reservation booking through Alamo in January and February. Both state code X on the email confirmation so I think that is what is on all emails, not just the 1 code emails. Note, I did not use the 1 when I rented a few weeks ago.

During the phone call with Alamo was the person asked about code 1 or code x? If it was code X then I think we are in the same spot we were before. :confused3

Yes, my old reservation has an x too in the contract id place and this was an id with a coupon code from Alamo's website. So the x is not indicative of anything.

Before the thread is closed I just wanted to apologize for today's events.

I'm also asking my "Update" thread be closed. For only trying to help, it's been way to stressful of a day and I'm suppose to be :yay: ....we're going to Florida in less than two weeks!! :cloud9:

I wish you all the best in your car rental findings and have a wonderful vacation :flower3:

I will apologize too... I am sorry for my behavior today.
I am glad you had the stuff deleted on FW.
I apologize to you and all I offended.

It is so frustrating though (not to you Rainbowsmist) when people post these codes with insurance and those inexperienced use them. These codes aren't all they seem to be and can cause issues. The issues are few and far between but people need to think long and hard before they use these.

While I'm thrilled that everyone has 'kissed and made up' here, I'm still closing it. There is no room here for debates on what has been posted on other boards. And while it's always nice to share info, there is a lot of room for 'mistakes' when talking about car rental 'codes'. It's fine to post this info, but everyone needs to realize that not everyone is entitled to use every code they see online. And if you do use a code you aren't entitled to, you may find yourself paying top dollar. Just be careful everyone.
