Hey everybody. Can anyone tell me what fantasmic is. I have looked for it but I havent found a good explanation of what it is. Is it just a show or a dinner show, and what kind of show and what characters and the story and anything else. Thanks

Hi, the show is at MGM, it is a seated show, there is standing room for latecomers. To get a seat i would reccomend that you arrive at least 1 hour beforehand. The show is awesome, it is all about the main mouse himself triumphing over evil and features lasers, fireworks, great effects and floats on the water. There are many different characters in this show. If you have never seen it then it is not to be missed. It lasts 27 minutes.

sorry to put a dampener on it but we did the show on our last night of our recent trip, and we thought is was not so good, no where near as good as wishes(M/K) illuminations(Epcot) and mistify ( seaworld ), the story lost us and we all thought it was too noisey not in keeping with disney. even my 14 year old son thought it was rubbish. not only that but you must make sure you stay together the stadium is massive. dont know how many people it holds but it must be thousands and when you come out everyone has to exit through a very small gap. took us about 40 mins just to get out, not our best memory.

No No No! Fantasmic is no fireworks show. Can't really understand Di Wadd's antipathy to the show either, but if we all liked the same things then I suppose we would live in a very boring world. IMO Fantasmic is exactly what Disney is all about - great action and characters, amazing water/fire effects, typical Disney story of good v evil with of course "our hero" winning out in the end, all rounded off with exhilirating music, simply (again IMO, but I doubt I'm alone) the best show in Disney. I do believe that enjoyment of the show is affected by your position in the auditorium. If you are unfortunate enough to be seated midway between two water screens then the projected images are definitely poor in quality. I experienced this on my very first visit tp WDW and was disappointed too. I had previously seen the show at DL (very much the same show btw) and had anticipation of what to expect, so I had to see the show again - the next day - found a better viewing position and my expectations were realised - in full - absolutely superb.

To guarantee a good seat (although I believe most seats fall into this category) try the Fantasmic Dinner package. You take dinner before the show as a PS, then go to a selected section of the auditorium where the view is fine (I'm not suggesting that all other position are inferior - on the contrary I suspect that seats in the mid section are even better, whereas the DP customers sit to the extreme right, facing the "stage".

Don't be put off by adverse comment - go see for yourself and like me and millions of others, be transported into the magic world of Mickey Mouse. It really is a show NOT to be missed.

Fantasmic is DH and my favorite thing to do at Disney. We never miss it. I would not recommend it for anyone with young children who are scared by loud noises. First time we saw it, we were surrounded by little kids and they were in tears from the noise. The kids could also not understand that the evil witch was just an actor pretending to be mean and it really terrified some of those kids. They thought she really was the witch and she was going to hurt Mickey.

We make sure to get there at least 45 minutes before show time. We also don't bother with the dinner package, we just grab our seats and then one of use saves the seat while the other runs to the hot dog stand at the top of the bleachers. Then, we eat our hotdogs while we're waiting for the show.

I'd suggest sitting about 4-5 rows back though or else you're liable to get wet.

Fantasmic is a combination of live actors, puppets, a movie screen made out of water showing clips from all the disney films, fireworks and boats.

It sums up the entire Disney trip for me and is always the highlight.
