Fantasmic??

Anywhere is great honestly, but I really recommend getting to the park early to grab a fastpass for each person in your party, its just like fastpass for World Of Color (it doesn't effect the rest of the day for ride fastpasses). There is 2 Fantasmic Dinner packages which gives guests a designated priority seating in the front and the sides next to the dinner packages are fastpass and what is left after that is standby and usually its very limited viewing (some people wait HOURS before because its so popular especially now that they have updated it.)

The fastpass kiosk is located across from the Golden Horseshoe right by Rivers of America. :)

There actually are 4 dining packages for F!: regular dining packages for HB, BB, and RBT -- all 3 have reserved areas up front by the waterside railing, ground seating (no chairs, BB package includes a souvenir foam cushion). RBT also has a premium package that includes dinner and patio seating (chairs!) for the first show -- this package has to be reserved over the phone. Menus for all the F! dining packages can be found at allears.net. Free FPs go quickly -- both shows are usually gone by around noon -- so get yours early.

Thanks, I had no idea stand by was limited. I guess I'll try and do a dinner package

When we were there in December we made sure to get fastpasses (for the first show). I can't remember exactly what time we got into the queue, but we made sure to get there earlier than what people were telling us as it was our first time using this new system for Fantasmic. It is a little weird, you are in a "holding pen" where the Mark Twain docks for a bit, then moved down into another area before being let loose to find a spot. We chose one right behind a large rock near the river (I believe it was just a bit off to the right than true front and center) but the rock ensured no one was going to be in front of us--that was ideal! I still prefer the old way without fastpasses, but as Disney changes so must we.

Would kids be ok standing behind the rock (and someone sitting in a wheelchair)? Or is it too tall of a rock?

i am not sure about a wheel chair, in fact, I believe those in wheelchairs probably have a dedicated viewing spot? I can't imagine they don't. The rock should not be too high to see over for your 9 and 7 year olds...mine are teenagers) and actually they crawled over the fencing area to sit on top of it the whole show. I was fully prepared for either another guest or castmember to say something and ask them to move, but no one did and so there they sat.

Thanks! There wasn't a handicapped dedicated viewing area for fireworks at MK this past Sept so I wasn't sure what DLR offered. I looked at the accessible map but the viewing areas are not clearly marked if they exist.

WDW has (i think) since added one for the fireworks but it didn't help us much in Sept when people stood right in front of my dd in her chair...just crazy that people think that is ok...anyways, I'm always looking for objects we can get behind so no one stands in front.
